The group of survivors

I leaned slightly to my left to peek out of the door and I saw a few people walking towards the room.
"Hey Scarlett! Hey Summer, hey Eugene" Ethan said.
"Um, who's the newcomer?" Eugene asked.
"Her name is Kylie," Ethan said.
"You literally let her in here without checking for bites or anything alarming?" Eugene snapped.
"We didn't have any girls with us and we couldn't just leave her," he said.
"Excuse me!" Scarlett said.
"Yes?" Levi asked.
"Someone get that girl some jeans! She's freezing!" Scarlett pointed at me.
"I don't have any.." summer said. She gave me an apologetic look.
"Does anyone have anything? I don't care who it is" Jay said. He must be the leader.
"I do," Ethan said.
"What do you have?" Jay asked.
"A pair of sweatpants I can't guarantee they'll fit her... she's short," Ethan said. Everyone laughed.
"Thanks a lot! Now I feel short" I laughed.
"Here you go" he walked over to a bag, grabbed them and handed them to me.
"Thanks"
"We can share rooms if you're okay with that" Summer suggested.
"Okay," I said. She led me to a room filled with bunk beds.
"Me. Scarlett, Ethan, and Jaden share a room now your part of it," she said. I nodded.
"Who's Jaden?" I asked.
"He's a newer member of the group too," she said.
"Oh okay," I said.
"No one should be in here right now so your good'' she said. I walked in and changed into the sweat pants Ethan gave me. They were a little long so I folded the pant leg a little. Otherwise, they fit pretty well. As I was about to walk out I heard some rustling
"Hello?" A tired voice said.
"Um... hi," I said confused.
"Who are you?" The person asked. Then suddenly someone jumped down in front of me. I squealed in surprise.
"Um I'm Kylie," I said.
"Oh hey I'm Jaden," he said. Oh boy...he was in here this whole time. Good thing it's pretty dark in here...
We walked out and to the room where everyone was.
"Hey look they fit her" Ethan laughed.
"Guess I'm not as short as you thought."
"Meh, you're short but not that short" Ethan teased. I rolled my eyes.
"So who's going on patrol tonight?" Jay asked.
"I'll go," Ethan and Jaden said at the same time.
"Okay anyone else? Kylie why don't you go with them so you can get the basics" Jay said.
"Um okay," I said nervously.
