Betty POV
I am super happy today!!!!! Mommy told me that we could go to the park after school if I was good and I was!!!! I am so happy!! "Mommy!! Can we go yet??" I whined to her, really wanting to go to the park. "Yes sweetie. Let's go get in the car." She said, pushing me towards the door. "YAY!!!!" I screamed while running to go buckle my seat belt. We were on our way to the park and I was so happy! I was singing and trying to dance in my car seat, but that wasn't working. "Quit shaking the car Elizabeth! You'll be able to move in like five minutes when we get to the park." "Fine, but stop calling me Elizabeth! I like Betty better." "Ok Betty." She said as she looked back at the road. I saw the park as we pulled up and I got super excited. "Yay!!! We're here!!" I said bouncing up and down, kicking my legs. I started unbuckling myself, but I had a little trouble. "Here, baby. Let me help." Mommy said, coming to unbuckle my seat belt for me. "Thank you mommy!!" I screamed while running out to the playground. "You're welcome sweetie!" I heard her faintly say as I was running around. I was about to go down the slide when I heard a kid throwing rocks in the river by all the trees. He looked kind of mad and about my age. I felt bad so I went over to see if he was ok. "Hi! Are you ok? You look mad." I asked him sitting down next to him. "Yea, I'm just a little upset." He said, looking at me. He was wearing a beanie over his black hair. I only knew that because he had one curl hanging in front of his eyes. He had blue eyes and small brown spots on his skin, but they weren't freckles. "I'm sorry. Do you want to talk about it?" I asked him, hoping that maybe we could be friends. "Yea sure. So, today was my first day of kindergarten and I was really nervous. I thought it was going to go well, but when I got there, there was a lot of older guys, like 3rd graders and they were being mean and making fun of me." He said with tears in his eyes. I felt so bad. "I'm sorry. I'm here for you and you know it's ok to cry." I said to him, hoping it would calm him down. After I said that, he fully broke down in tears. "It's ok. Do you want a hug?" I asked him because hugs always make me feel better. He nodded and wrapped his arms around me. It made me so sad that people would do this to someone. I started rubbing his hair and he stopped crying. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done this. I feel like a baby." He shouldn't be sorry. It's not his fault. "Don't be sorry. I now noticed that I don't know your name. What is it?" I felt bad that we had this whole thing and I didn't know his name. "Please don't laugh. It's Forsythe Pendleton Jones the third, but I go by Jughead." He said ashamed. "It's cute. I like it and my name is Elizabeth Cooper, but I go by Betty. Don't worry, I don't like my name either." I said giggling. He laughed too. "Do you want to be my friend?" I asked him because he was super nice and I wanted to be friends with him. "Yea!! Wait, why do you want to be friends with me?" He asked in a sad voice. How could he even ask that? "Why wouldn't I? You are nice, funny, and very playful. I think we would be great friends." He started smiling. I'm happy we are friends. "Betty, what school do you go too?" Maybe we go to the same school. "Riverdale Elementary. What about you?" He looked surprised. "No way! Me too!!" He said excited. "What class are you in?" I wanted to know since I didn't see him in my class today. "I don't know. I ran down here to the park before I could go." He might be in my class. "Where were your parents?" I asked him because my mommy walked me to class. "I ran from them and they normally let me just come to the park because I live really close by." He's lucky. He gets to come to the park whenever he wants. "That sounds fun. I want to go to your house one time." I told him. He looked all sad after I said that. "I don't live in a house. I live in a trailer, like a camper." Wow. "That's.... awesome!! That sounds like camping everyday." It sounded so cool. "What about you? Where do you live?" I live in a big house, but it's just me and mommy. She said my daddy died when I was very, very little." I could see he felt sad for me. "I'm sorry." He said, patting my shoulder. "Don't feel bad. I don't even really remember him. Who do you have in your family?" I asked, wanting to know more about him. "Well, it's just me, mommy, and daddy, but I want a baby sister. My mommy and daddy are the nicest people ever and I hope I will have a sister that is just like them." That's so sweet. I want a sister, but I don't think I'll ever get one. "That's really nice Jughead. I wanna call you Juggie. Is that ok?" I wanted to be sure so he didn't feel weird. "Yea, but only if I get to call you Betts." I liked it. "Deal! Now let's go play on the slides Juggie!" I said as I ran away towards the slides. I saw him follow behind me, but then mommy came up to me. "Hey baby, it's time to go." I didn't want to go. "Mommy!! I want to stay and play with my new friend!" I whined while pointing to Jughead. "How about we go talk to his parents and see if I can go get his mommy's number?" Yay! "YEA!!!" Juggie and I screamed. Juggie led us over to his mommy and daddy, but when we got there mommy looked shocked...
