Jughead POV

It's been about 3 years since all that stuff happened to Betty and she still hasn't fully recovered from it. Edgar has been sentenced to life in jail and Betty now sees a therapist. She has started to get better, but things still traumatize her. Mom, Dad, JB, Alice, Archie, Veronica, Cheryl, and our new friends, Kevin, Toni, Reggie, Sweet Pea, Fangs, and I have all been there to help her through things. We met Kevin and Fangs when we were in 8th grade, about 2 months after everything that happened to Betty. We met Toni and Sweet Pea over the summer after 8th grade at the park because I took Betty where we first met to maybe make her feel a bit better. Finally, we met Reggie in Freshmen year. He is on the football team along with Archie, Sweets, which is Sweet Pea's nickname, Fangs, and me. Cheryl, Veronica, and Toni are all vixens, the school's cheerleaders, and they are trying to get Betty to try out. Kevin is in charge of the drama department at Riverdale high which means we are all forced to be in the musicals. We didn't do one last year, but we are definitely doing one this year. Betty and I write for the Blue and Gold which is the school's newspaper. Betty and I have been best friends since we were in kindergarten, so we are the closest in the group. As of right now, things are really looking up for us. "Hey Jug?!" I heard my mom scream from the kitchen of the trailer. Yup... we still live in the trailer. "Yea Mom?!" I called back to her, waiting for my answer. "Do you want to stay at Betty's tonight? We are going to your sisters dance performance and we figured you wouldn't want to go." She said as she walked into my bedroom. "Yea, that's fine with me." I said and she left. I didn't need to worry about packing anything because I already have over half of my wardrobe over there. Betty has half of her wardrobe over here too. Well, more like not even a quarter because she has a LOT of clothes. About 2 hours later, my parents and sister were ready to go. "Jug!!! Come on! We are about to leave!" I heard me dad call from outside my bedroom. "Coming!!" I screamed while running out front. We all got in the car and drove to the Cooper's. "Bye Jug." They all said as we arrived and I got out of the car. "Bye guys. Good luck, Jelly!" I said as I went into the Cooper's house. "I'm home!!" I screamed as I went into the house. "Juggie!!" I heard Betty scream as she ran down the stairs. She immediately jumped into my arms to hug me. "Betts, I saw you not even 24 hours ago." I said while laughing and carrying her to the couch. I sat down and she was sitting on my lap. "Well it's too long." She said as she climbed off my lap and sat down next to me. "Hey Jug! Are you hungry?" Alice asked me as she walked out from the kitchen. "When am I not?" I asked her and Betty started giggling. She has a really cute laugh. "Fair point!" She said, chuckling as she walked back into the kitchen. "Come on!" Betty said, pulling me by my arm up the stairs. We got up to her bedroom and she pushed me onto her bed. "What are you doing, Betts?" I asked as she went rummaging through her closet looking for something. "Close your eyes." She told me while still in the closet. "Why?" I asked her. "Just do it!" She said while giggling. So, I did as told. I closed my eyes and I felt her put something in my hand. "Open." She said in a calm and relaxing voice. I looked in my hand and saw a necklace. I picked it up, looked at it, and it was very hard for me to hold back the tears. "Betts..." I couldn't believe it. "Do you like it?" She asked me with a smile as she sat next to me. "I love it Betts." I said as I hugged her. About 3 months ago, Betty and I went to the mall and I saw these necklaces. One said, 'Thank you for standing by my side when times get hard.' The other one says, 'Thank you for making me laugh when I didn't even want to smile.' Betty then pulled one out of her pocket and put it around her neck. "Thank you so much, Betty. My birthday is in October though and it is only August. Why did you get them now?" I asked her. "I saw you looking at them constantly and I couldn't wait until your birthday!" She said as she got behind me and put the necklace on. "I cannot express how much this means to me." I said as I hugged her again. "You're welcome, Juggie." She said as she pulled away from the hug. "Kids! Dinner!" We heard Alice scream from downstairs. Betty and I both went downstairs to the kitchen. We all ate and then Betty and I went back upstairs to her bedroom. We both sat on the bed and I was fidgeting with my necklace. "Juggie, let's play truth or dare." Betty said after a little comfortable silence. "Ok! Truth or dare, Betts?" I asked her. "Umm dare?" She answered me in question. "I dare you to... egg Archie's window." I said to her with a smirk. "No!" She screamed at me. "Yes, it's a dare." I said to her while laughing. "Fine!" She said as she ran downstairs to grab the eggs. Archie is her next door neighbor. She came back upstairs and opened her window. She threw 3 eggs at his window and waited for him to open it. She went to throw another one, but he opened his window. She threw it and it broke right on his head. Betty started laughing like crazy and I laughed quietly so Archie didn't know I was there. "Let me guess, your with Jughead?" He said so I popped out behind her. "How'd you guess?" I said with my arms around her waist and my head on hers. "Just a hunch." He said while rubbing egg off his face and out of his hair. "Ok bye!!!" Betty said as she closed the window and we both started laughing like crazy. "That was hilarious!" Betty said as she sat back on the bed. "That indeed!" I said as I fell back on top of her. "Ok Jug! Truth or dare?" She asked me. "Truth." I said, not wanting to do anything that I would make her do. "Do you have a crush?" She asked me. Shit! "Uhh- um- yea." I said to her. "Ok." She said. My only problem is that she is my crush. I like her. She can't know that though. "You ready for bed?" I asked her. "Yea." She said through a yawn. I laid down and she laid down next to me. She cuddled her head into my neck, her arms around my waist, and her leg over mine. "Night Betts." I said in a gently, calming voice. "Night Juggie." She said and she was out. I want to tell her how I feel, but I know I can't. She is the kindest, most beautiful, and the most talented person I have ever met. I want to be with her, but she is my best friend and it can't be that way.
