Damian's point of view:
The second I saw Jon carrying Hunter I knew something was very wrong. Despite her rather pissed expression, I could see that she was clearly hurt. Her skin had taken a washed out and paler look while her entire body was soaked. I knew quickly she'd been thrown into water but as she was set down I didn't even realize I was moving.I had to keep myself calm and I controlled my movements and my mind before I felt something slip in. I looked at Raven from the corner of my eye as she walked with me. She wasn't facing me, but her mind spoke to mine as she said 'she is fine. Her lungs are a bit full of water but otherwise she's healing well. Gar saved her. He's currently worrying about her but more angry.'
I tilted my head at her to explain before I was interrupted by Gar himself. He told me in a few words why Hunter was so mad. Kaldur.
I felt my entire body tense. The Atlantean wasn't Hunters favorite person but I didn't think my teammate would purposely harm her. I immediately felt the anger sped my heart and took over my body. I started running through every possibly way I could make him pay without killing him. My father would be disappointed if I did. Though for Hunter I briefly considered it.
I looked her over to make sure she was alright. Her clothes while drenched were drying quickly cause off the material and with Ravens healing she wasn't wheezing anymore from the water she'd inhaled.
Her gaze was over my shoulder as she stiffened. Ravens magic was restoring the color she had lost without her knowledge. But as she patted Jon's arm that made me slightly tense. I knew it was more a friendly thanks but it didn't help my anger just redirected the source. The kriptonean looked at her confused before she said, "Excuse me for a second. I'm going to flay a fish."
I had no doubt with the murderous glare we both probably held that she would. So as she moved to attack Kaldur, who I could hear approaching behind me, I grabbed her waist. She didn't fight against me and I was thankful for that, as my own fury was breaking and her by my side would keep my stable.
Her eyes locked with mine and I couldn't see them behind the mask but I knew they were as bright as they sky but the anger probably made them darken. Raven looked at me, probably as I started to radiate fury before I said to Hunter, "Wait till we get the fully story." She nodded but her gaze was watching the approach of Kaldur with narrowed eyes and gritted teeth.
I turned partially as I heard Kaldur stop moving. I kept my body slightly in front of Hunter as a block. Though Hunter gave a light tug forward towards him I still held her around the waist in warning before I dropped my arm. The others were watching rather cautiously before I said, "Explain Kaldur, and quickly." I saw Blue beetle drop to his side probably from where he was flying before Kaldur said with crossed arms, "Explain what?"
Hunter held still in an assassins position before I said, "Why you threw Hunter over the side of the levee." Kaldur seemed to realize what I meant. His eyes widened slightly and his form stiffened before he said, "She was in the way. It was a blast meant for Tempest not her."
Hunter scoffed before she said, "Considering I was going to join you from the sidelines and you threw me over the ledge I doubt that. I never thought you were that horrible of a shot." I didn't agree as Kaldur was a notorious bad shot. Kaldur seemed to give up on the ruse before he said, "You got in the way."
Hunter stiffened and said, "Excuse me. I got in the way? I was fighting him first before you jumped down and decided to launch me off the levee." Kaldur shrugged and said, "It was an Atlantean matter that needed one of its own to solve it. You would have only gotten injured if you tried to help so I prevented the injury."
