"—I saw you and Kid."  Nathaniel looked over at a wide-eyed Stella in the back of the limousine.  She shot a look up to the partition dividing them and Jackson.

"Oh-"Nathaniel continued.  "Don't worry----he can't hear us."  Nathaniel wiggled his fingers indicating he used magic to block out the conversation.

"I—" Stella was struggling to defend herself.  "Are you—".

He shook his head. "It's not my place to tell Alistair.  But Stella, you should know something---"  He turned to face her. "It's easy for me to read Kid.  He's done a lot of healing over the years.  His mind is sound, I mean unless his anger is triggered. Then it's---" Nathaniel furrowed his brows recalling times he has seen werewolves lose their temper. "—just trust me when I tell you his feelings for you—" Stella looked at Nathaniel, her heart fluttering.  He was reminded that it's against witches' rights to meddle in matters of the heart.  "um---his feelings will be clear to you in time.  Now----- Alistair on the other hand--"  Nathaniel chuckled scratching the side of his jaw.

"You've been with him a long time, right?" Nathaniel nodded at her question.

"I've known Alistair for decades."  Nathaniel looked out the window smiling remembering better days. He turned back to Stella. "He wasn't always like this.  He was kind, loving, a romantic.  He did the right thing and was never cruel.  He was shy too."

Stella scoffed letting out a snort.  "Dracula Elvis was shy?"

Nathaniel nodded smiling.  "Yeah—oh and a wonderful song writer too.  His music was heartfelt, filled with passion and romance.  If he ever writes you a song, you won't forget it.  It'll leave a mark on you forever, like a tattoo.  Even if he shows you that part of his life that he buried---- know you won his heart.  If you can get him to talk to you---know he's falling."

He continued: "I've seen it over the years.  No one since Tabby has seen that part of him."  Stella turned her gaze out the window trying to picture Alistair that way.  Nathaniel continued.  "You have to give him time Stella.  Let him come to you--to open up to you.  Don't push him or rush him.  Trust me you don't want to see the angry dark side to him."

Stella turned to Nathaniel.  He went on.  "This curse it effects us all.  Our coven, my family, weren't happy with my sister dating an abomination of nature, a vampire.  Witches work to balance nature, and this connection was not in harmony with the world.  But she loved him and he loved her.  And when she helped Marie curse Alistair—" Stella furrowed her brows.

"Wait—"  She shook her head. "I thought Tabitha cursed him.  What does Marie have to do with it?"

"Technically she did, but Marie pushed and manipulated her to do it.  Marie played them both, and she knew Tabby would curse him using his biggest weakness, the sun.  Marie also knew our kind would cast Tabby out.  And they did. It was a win win for her.  Marie walked away from it all untouched, unharmed.  All because of her obsession with Alistair"

Stella sat in shock thinking of everything Alistair told her about bringing the past back into his life.  How he gave his ex the key back to his heart.  How he betrayed and hurt Tabitha.

Nathaniel spoke.  "Marie loved Alistair in an unhealthy way, but she also would have done anything to keep him. And she did.  She was ruthless.  Stella--" Nathaniel looked to Stella again searching her gaze.  "Alistair is weak when it comes to her.  She has a hold on him.  I think maybe because he was such a romantic fool, he couldn't let go.  And because she turned him---" Stella's eyes widened.  Nathaniel realized she didn't know any of this and quickly added.  "Don't tell Alistair I told you any of this, let him come to you to tell you."  Stella nodded knowing he was right in telling her.
