ch.3 // dude

"You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess."

Marinette's POV:

"Who is playing Romeo and Juliet?" Rose asks.

I grab my packet and flip to the cast list.

Juliet- Marinette Dupain-Cheng

Why would Ms. Bustier choose me for Juliet? I wonder which boy is playing Romeo.

"I'm playing Romeo. Who's my Juliet?" Adrien says.

My jaw drops open. I have to be love interests with Adrien. But Romeo and Juliet kiss. I HAVE TO KISS ADRIEN AGRESTE ?!

"Girl!" Alya says kicking my leg with her foot bringing me back to reality.

"I-I-I'm playing Juliet" I say quietly slipping up my hand.

I'm normally a super confident girl, around my friends and family. But Adrien does something to me. It's like my brain stops working. I can barely talk around him, but kissing him? Yeah right, I think I would pass out.

Adrien looks back at me and smiles.

"Ok everyone in the first act come up to the front of the room. That's all we have time to read today." Ms. Bustier says. "Kim and Alix could you guys help me move my desk?"

"Beat you in a race to the front of the class." Kim says looking at Alix.

"Ya in your dreams!" Alix responds.

After moving the desk and getting everyone ready to start reading. We begin, but before you know it we are at scene four: the first kiss between Romeo and Juliet. My palms are sweating and my legs feel like jello.

"O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do; They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair." Adrien says looking me with his beautiful emerald eyes.

"S-saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake." I say looking down at the script.

"Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take." Adrien says.

There is comes. He grabs my chin bringing my face to look at his. Then he moves his hand to my cheek pulling me in for the kiss.

And then it happens. Our lips press together and it feels like magic. I wish it could last forever but then... the bell rings.

As we pull away I immediately face my eyes to the floor.

"Good job dude!" he says putting a hand up for a high-five.

Dude? D-did he just call me dude? He has never called me dude before, ugh the kiss must have been terrible! I still give him a high five and then walk back to my desk to grab my things. As I walk out the classroom door to go to Ms. Mendelev's class Alya runs beside me.

"O-M-G girl spill the deets. What was it like kissing Adrien?! Was it everything you could have ever imagined?!" My best friend asks.

"Oh it was nothing. Just a lame kiss..."

"Girl that was not just a lame kiss, you both seemed totally into it."

"No, well at least Adrien definitely didn't like it. He called me dude. and high-fived me..." I say looking down at my shoes.

"Oh no. Girl I'm sorry. That sounds like a total friend zone. Which is weird he seemed like he liked it." She said putting her hand on my shoulder. "I can have Nino ask him about the kiss if you want."

"No, it's ok," I say looking up. It's gonna be a long day I think to myself as we walk into the science lab.

Adrien's POV:

"Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take." I say.

I look at Marinette who's head is facing the floor. I pick her face up by her chin. As her eyes open wider, I realize how beautiful they are. I move my hand up to her cheek and move her towards me. And then we kiss.

I've never kissed a girl before but there was something about this. It felt incredible, it felt like electricity was shooting through my whole body. As if our lips were meant to be together. But then it's cut short because the bell rings.

She pulls away and looks down again. Oh no she didn't like it. I can feel myself sweating and all I can say is, "Good job dude!" Why did I just call her dude? And if I couldn't get any worse I put my hand up for a high-five.

She quickly high fives me back and then walks away to her desk without even looking me in the eyes. Oh no she must have hated that. She walks out of the room with Alya whispering, probably telling her how bad the kiss was. I have to make this up to her, she's my friend. I can't have her feeling this way especially if it's my fault.

I enjoyed the kiss, a lot. I've never seen Marinette more than just a friend. Ladybug is my number one girl. The electricity probably always happens for your first kiss. But I still feel bad for Marinette.

"Dude!" I hear Nino say while putting his hand on my shoulder.

"Hey Nino."

"Why do you look so down in the dumps my man?"

"Oh nothing important, I just think Marinette didn't like kissing me and I feel bad."

"Oh don't sweat bro, I'm sure she loved it." (Nino knows Mari likes Adrien because Alya told him)

"What do you mean your sure she loved it?" I question.

"No I didn't mean that. I mean she probably hated it, no I mean she didn't not like it. She probably just thought nothing of it." He says with a worried smile on his face.

"Nino what are you not telling me?" I say raising my eyebrow.

"Uhm... nothing I'm not telling you anything." He says before walking away towards Alya and Marinette.

He knows something about Marinette, and I know the purrfect person to find out what it is ;)
