He walked forward towards the girl who is capturing a picture of the park. "It's getting dark and cold!" He sighed.
"But we have to keep going," she protested with a tired face.
Justin protested her suggestion back, "we mustn't! Look at you, almost melting like an ice-cream!" "Ice-cream?" Melissa questioned back.
"We should look a nearby hotel..." he suggested.
Melissa exploded, "no way!"
"Just look at the road," he pointed out at the empty road getting duller and duller, "this is more like a deserted area and it's probably risky at dark. I don't think we could get a lift until morning!"
"But I can't stay in a hotel!" Melissa said, "I've reputation unlike you and I don't wanna be another name on your stupid model list!"
She meant it harshly, but it was true.
Justin gave a cold stare, "model list?" he asked himself and burst out in a cute laughter, "Oh...."
"What's so funny!" thought Melissa.
"You go ahead then... I'll stay here till morning!"
Though, Justin found it unnecessary and he felt unwilling to do that. Even he did not realize why, yet it was an unconditional denial.
Justin poked his hand to the pockets to find his wallet, but it was missing. "My wallet.. It's not..." Melissa looked confused, "you must have dropped it or?"
And he remembered that he has left it in the car, "Ahhhhh... it's in the car!"
Well, that made Melissa burst out in laughter. Justin glared skeptically, "what?" "No nothing!" She answered still laughing.
He was distracted by her laughter.
"You've a pretty laughter!" He complimented which made Melissa stop her laughter at once. They have walked miles and the car is so far behind, thus Justin had an opinion.
"Ahem," he cleared his throat, rubbed his head- thinking. "Well, I don't think I could afford a hotel at the moment in which you too oppose. So, I think it's better to book a camp-ground for today," he proposed and his venue is a pleasing one for Melissa.
She thought for a second and agreed, under several agreements.
"Well..." She commenced suggesting, albeit stammered, "there- has to be no-" Justin realized, "no physical contact right?" She nodded respectively, pretty embarrassed.
"Woah... how about a peck at least?" Justin asked flirtatiously. "Wh...wha...t? Shut up!" said Melissa, "I'm leaving!"
"Wait... wait!" he stopped her and attested, ruffling her hair affectionately.
"Don't ever touch my hair again!" She ordered annoyed.
Both entered to the Joshua tree which was a dreamy place to Melissa because she has never gone camping not even during schooling.
It was all a part of her serendipity. Although Justin pretended that he neglected the phrase: "stupid model list!" he was thinking about it so deep.
He commanded her to put on the mask. "But why?" she interrogated. "It's for your own reputation! They know me and I can easily book a camp-ground, but if they get to see you..." he hesitated, "I don't want you to be on the papers- got it?"
"Ah... Yep, got it!" She answered childishly and put on the mask. She murmured, "what a surprise! Someone's talking about reputation..."
"I heard it!" quirked Justin. Justin had to put on an act, pretentiously at the counter.
"Hey guys, I just need to book a campground. My friends are on the way..."
He acted like he is about to pay, but then shout out: "My wallet!" He described, pretentiously, "I must have dropped it-"
"Actually, she's my cousin and she forced me to have a camp today," he proceeded, squeezing her cheek and flattered for an excuse, "and I couldn't possibly turn her hopes away!" His disappointment made an excuse for the clerks to allow entrance.
Melissa moved slightly as she could not overreact because it is a part of acting.
"But why is she wearing a mask?" One of the clerks questioned, suspiciously. Justin clasped the hand of Melissa tight, whilst she tried to shrug away.
He held her hand tight, "unfortunately, she's sick today. That's why... So, it would be better if it's a less localized camp-ground!" He concealed and insisted. The clerk was tricked for his white lie.
Melissa nodded to add more emphasis for the dramatic act. Justin engaged into the conversation purposely, so that he could hold her hand more. "He is doing it on purpose, so that he could..." Thought Melissa frowning at him, whom had nothing to do. He booked the black rock campground which is best provided. And they both headed inside the entrance.
