MPBC One-Shot Writing Contest

Criteria for Judging

1.The genre for the first contest would be ROMANCE (not required but you could have a sub-genre of TeenFiction).

b.      Nakakainspire

b.      Nakakainlove

2.Can be English or Tagalog. Choose your own writing style, and should not exceed to 2500 words excluding title. (one-shot lang naman kaya sapat na ang 2000k)

3.Voting period of Wattpad users will be until March 20. (Kasi pwede pong magvote ang kahit hindi member.)

4.  Winner will be announced on March 21.

Prizes

1.       Participating members would have to give reaction on the published one-shot (format is to follow)

2.       Promotion of the winners chosen story by participating members through:

a.      Posting the promotion on the participating members’ profile, and

b.      Promoting the chosen story and one-shot on the participating members own story.

3.       The winner will also be the club featured writer for two (2) weeks.

4.       The winner’s chosen story and one-shot will also be the club’s feature story for two weeks.

Description of Criteria 

40% ‐ Creativity 
The goal is to reward students who display  the  ability  to  think  “outside  the  box”—that  is,  those  who  provide  something  other  than formulaic answers, and who can do so in a novel or unusual way.

20% ‐ Structure
The way in which an story is organized helps make it more easily understood and appreciated. 

10% ‐ Adherence to Topic / Genre
Sometimes story are cleverly written, but they actually have little to do with the given topic. 
(10%) Does this story, in one way or another, address the topic at hand?      Yes  /  No 

10% ‐ Grammar 
Although good grammar is important and should not go unrewarded, the goal of this competition is to encourage creative thinking, not drive them to worry about their verb conjugation or spelling. 

20% ‐ “Wow!” factor 
This portion is where points are awarded for exceptional story—those that display an incredible use of vocabulary, clever ideas, mature style, advanced English/Tagalog and so on.
