Dean's POV

The bell rang and the halls of Lawrence high crowded with students shuffling off to their next class. Dean left his home room with a good attitude and some softmore girl's number who he wasn't going to call.
He started heading off to his next class and was turning a corner when he was knocked to the ground.
"Hey will ya watch where you're going?!" Dean exclaimed as he rubbed his head from where it hit the school floor tiles.
"S-sorry" a voice Dean didn't recognize muttered. Dean looked up from the ground and saw the paintbrushes and papers that surrounded him. He saw a boy that looked about his age struggling to pick everything up. He was wearing a Fall Out Boy T-shirt, faded jeans, and a tan trench coat.
Dean realized that this kid was probably new and was probably a little frightened considering he just knocked over the quarter back of the football team so he decided to help him pick his things up. He started grabbing various paintbrushes and different papers when he stumbled across the kid's schedule.
Castiel Novak.
Grade 11.
Dean had history and art with him. He looked up to say something along the lines of 'sorry' to the kid when he noticed it. His eyes. They were so blue. It was as if somebody had taken the ocean and trapped it in his eyes. These eyes were beautiful but also looked terrified.
"Do you need help with this?" Dean asked, just looking for an excuse to strike up a conversation with Castiel.
"No thank you I'm fine." Castiel said quietly as he finished gathering his things and scurried off.
Dean watched as the blue eyed boy walked away into the crowded hallway.
The next class Dean had was math but all he could think about was the boy. Castiel. Castiel Novak and his stupid blue eyes occupied his thoughts. Why couldn't he stop thinking about him? He was just some new kid who Dean bumped into.

Castiel's POV

'Why am I so stupid? My first day and I already ran down a football player. Great job Castiel.' These thoughts raced through Castiel's head as he took his seat in marine biology.
"Heya buddy is this seat taken?" Castiel turned to see a light brown haired boy with a lollipop in his mouth smiling down at Castiel as he pulled out the chair next to him and sat down.
"Not much of a talker eh?" The boy asked. Castiel nodded and the boy laughed. "My name's Gabriel, but you can call me Gabe, Gdog, Blue Falcon, whatever floats your boat."
Castiel could feel confidence radiating off of Gabriel.
"Gabriel is fine." Castiel stated simply.
"So he has a voice!" Gabriel shouted, turning a couple heads. "Does he also have a name?"
"Castiel."
"That's exotic. Bet you've never found your name on a keychain before." Gabriel chuckled.
Castiel tilted his head, giving Gabriel a quizzical look.
"You don't get out much do you?"
But before Castiel could answer him, the teacher came in and started class. But Castiel couldn't stop thinking about how that kid in the hallway had looked at him. Did he have something on his face? Did he know the kid from somewhere? Who even was he? Before Castiel knew it the bell rang and he realized that he had just spent an entire class period thinking about somebody that he doesn't even know the name of.
Gabriel walked with him out of the classroom and Castiel decided to interrogate him.
"Um, Gabe? Can I ask you something?"
"Sure thing Cassie." Gabriel said as he popped a new lollipop into his mouth.
"I bumped into this guy earlier and-"
"Aw does Cassie have a crush?" Gabe winked and Castiel blushed.
"No, um, I don't know his name. He was wearing a, um, letterman jacket, and he had golden brown hair, and um, freckles, and green eyes, and-"
"Woah woah woah. Mate you telling me that you bumped into that kid over there?" Gabriel's whole demeanor changed as he pointed to a tall, handsome jock who Castiel recognized as the boy he had ran into earlier.
"Yes that's him." Castiel felt himself getting nervous that the boy would notice him and decide that now would be a good time to throw him in a dumpster for knocking him down so he turned around and kept walking with Gabriel.
"That is the quarter back and biggest dick around, Dean Winchester." Gabe stated with a flare of attitude. "I'm friends with his younger brother Sam, who seems to be one of the only underclass men he's friendly to. He's a senior and is dating the preacher's daughter Lisa Braeden over there." Gabriel pointed to a pretty black haired girl twirling her hair with a couple other girls.
"He picked up a couple of my things for me so he can't be that big of a dick right?" Castiel suggested.
"Maybe he has a soft spot for kids with big blue eyes." Gabriel joked as he nudged Castiel.
"Maybe." Castiel sighed.
He and his new friend parted ways but not before Gabriel could tell him where to sit at lunch. Outside under the big oak tree. Castiel walked to his next class thinking about why that kid- why Dean Winchester, looked at him like that.
