Everything's Alright

Chapter Four

"You are so strong to have been through all of this and still you are so boisterous and loving and caring." Mark whispered to me.

I pulled my legs up and he let me lay them across his lap. I had stopped crying for the most part. We just sat there, my head against his shoulder and his arms around me, just listening to the sounds of the night.

"Why did you come down here?" My voice croaked as I spoke.

"What do you mean?" He asked, looking down at me. 

"Why did you really come down here? Why did you come down here, of all the places, to come to a silly little con when you could have been recording videos for all of your fans?" I looked up at him, our faces inches apart.

"Because of everything you have been through on your blog and in your life. All of those bullshit anonymous messages you get, and still you remain strong." He gave me a smile. "I am so incredibly proud of you and everything you have overcome...I, uh.." He looked down with an embarrassed look on his face. Even with the little lighting that we had, I could see a slight rosy color appear on his cheeks. "I sorta grew a crush on you."

My heart skipped a few beats. Had he really just said that, to me? I looked at him for a moment, my mouth slightly open.

"Mark, I-" but words had failed me. I didn't know what to say. What was one supposed to say when their hero, their sole purpose for still being alive, had just told them they had a crush on them?

"I know its a lot to take in, but, if it's all right, I'd like to hang out with your for the next few days." He said.

"Of course!" I exclaimed.

"Okay, good. Because, I kinda forgot to order a room, and every place around is full of con-goers." He laughed, scratching the back of his head. "Kinda why I have the bag."

"Its fine by me, but we'll have to check with my roommate." I said, swinging my legs off and standing up. "Come on, let's go."

He stood up, grabbed his bag and we were off in the direction of the hotel.
