Mark P.O.V.

I hadn't even realized what had happened until it did. Someone had hit us on Sarah's side. The impact had thrown us into the median. I had hit my head on my steering wheel, everything was fuzzy. I couldn't feel my left arm.

"Shit." I mumbled. I looked down and saw blood and glass everywhere. I noticed more blood in Sarah's arm I looked over at her and my heart fell into my stomach.

The impact has gotten her good. The door was crushed on her; I couldn't see her right arm. Blood was spattered across her face, arms, chest and legs. Her head was lopsided, facing down.

"Oh, no." I said. I reached over with my good hand and shook her shoulder slightly. No response. There was a knocking on my door. I looked over to see a woman with brown hair that was styled in a pixie cut, and big brown eyes.

"Hi, my name is Trixie. I saw what happened. Are you alright?" She asked through the broken window.

"My arm is broken but that's it. I'm more worried about her." I said, looking back to Sarah.

Trixie looked in an saw her. She put a hand to her mouth. Not very comforting. I thought.

"Okay. We've called 911. They should be here very shortly. Can you move?"

I liften my legs. "Yeah. My only problem is my arm. Can you help me out?"

She tried on the door, and it opened. I climbed out and looked around. I had to hold my left arm to my body in order for it not to hurt.

"I'm Mark, by the way." I said, holding out my hand. She shook it.

We heard the sirens and saw the ambulance barreling down the road. Behind it were a couple police cruisers and a fire rescue truck. I ran a hand through my hair anxiously.

I looked over at the car that had hit us. It was an older make, maybe late '90s. The driver had exited the vehicle. He was almost unscathed other than a minor cut on his forehead.

"You son of a bitch!" I yelled at him, angrily walking over. "You did this!"

"Hey, man. Fuck you!" He replied.

"My girlfriend is unconscious right now. She could be dying! And it's all because of you!” I felt the stinging of the tears in my eyes. The man looked over and saw Sarah. He got wide eyed.

"Oh, shit, man. I didn't mean to -"

"Yeah? Well you did. And you bet your ass I'll be pressing charges." I said as an officer walked over and began taking to him.

I saw the paramedics using the jaws of life to get the door off. She looked worse on this side. There was more blood, and her hand was bent at an awkward angle. I walked over with tears streaming down my face.

"Sir, you can't come over here." An officer said, putting himself between me and her.

"She's my girlfriend. I was in the car with her..."

"I'm sorry, sir. The paramedics need space." He looked genuinely sorry. "I'll get someone to come over and help you with your arm." He started to walk away.

"Wait...please don't leave me alone..." I said with a cracking voice. He nodded and stood beside me as they dealt with Sarah.

They had to cut her seatbelt in order to get her out. They carefully placed her on a stretcher. They wrapped something around her neck. A paramedic meandered over and worked on my arm.

"Officer Miles told me that you were with her when it happened?" She questioned. I could only nod. "Are you related to her?"

"I'm her boyfriend."

She nodded. She finished with my arm. They had placed Sarah in the ambulance.

"Can I ride along?" I asked, stepping forward.

"I'm going to need a statement if you plan on pressing charges." The officer said.

"Then meet us there. I need to be with her." I said very seriously. The office nodded. I ran to the ambulance and hopped in. The door shut and we were on our way to the hospital.
