Three Laid sprawled on her bed. Eight had provided her with some night clothes, and a mattress to sleep on in the spare room. But of course, as always, Three couldn't find sleep. Maybe it was stress, or the way Eights clothes were itchy on her, but either way her squeezed eyes wouldn't give in to sleep. Shifting in her bed, her thoughts raced. All of the anxiety she had about her parents came back to her. She hadn't been completely herself lately. It had gotten so bad that she went to her parents of all people to hide away. The guilt she felt about her friends had made it too unbearable to be around them any longer. The guilt about everything. Being sanitized, trying to kill them, being distant, never fully apologizing. It made Three cringe to think about. But then there was Eight. The one Three had put through the most. She felt awful enough coming to her house with a sob story, not to mention staying the night. But something about the octoling peaked her interest. The way she smiled at Three, the way she held her hand when she was nervous, the way she...
What the hell am i doing...?
Three paused for a moment. Her thoughts had suddenly shifted from negative to...Eight. She held her face with one palm, feeling how hot her cheeks were compared to her freezing hand. But Three couldn't stop thinking about Eight suddenly. Soon, sleep hushed the loud thoughts.

Three's eyes opened slowly, a sudden burn caused them to shut again as light seeped through the room curtains and onto her face. Groaning in annoyance, she turned over onto her other side. Three hesitated for a moment, then finally sat up. With a big yawn, she got onto her feet and walked quietly to Eights kitchen. Three figured if Eight was going to let her stay, she might as well do her a favor and make her breakfast, although she had no idea how to cook. She pulled herself onto the top of one of the counters, and sat up on her knees while examining what today's meal would be.
Hmm... I- I don't know how to make any of this!
Three had only ever ordered food, or made things like instant ramen or microwave meals. She had never understood why people would spend so much time on cooking.
Uhm..How about toast?
She grabbed the loaf of bread in a plastic bag. Closing the cabinet doors, she jumped down from the kitchen counter, turning to her squid form so her weight wouldn't make anything more than a small slapping sound on the floor. Back in her kid form, Three took two pieces of bread, and dropped them into Eights toaster.
Settings...Five should do.
Three-not realizing her mistake-clicked the toaster settings to five, Checking her phone while she waited for the bread to cook. After about 4 minutes, Three smelled something...Burning? She drew her face closer to the toaster in curiosity. Suddenly, Two black pieces of toast popped out from the metal, almost hitting Three in the face. She tried her hardest not to scream in surprise. She let out a mix of a muffled scream, and a growl of frustration.
Damnit!
She wanted to stomp her foot on the floor, but that would wake Eight. She simply clenched her fists. Grabbing the toast and throwing it away, she slowly made her way to Eights room, already upset that she would have another problem to weigh on the octoling.

"Eight...EIGHT!" A nervous voice woke agent 8. She sat up immediately, startled.
"H-Huh?" Her confused expression soon turned into a yawn.
"Good morning, Three. What's wrong?" Eight stretched, and shifted her position to face Three. her legs now dangling off the side of her bed.
"I...Well- I uhm. I burnt toast." She stuttered.
Eight looked at her with confusion for a second, then realized what she meant.
"Why were you making toast?" Eight giggled a bit.
"I'msosorryIshouldveaskedforpermissionI-"
"Whoa, Three! It's okay. I don't mind you cooking for once!" Eight half-joked. Three had a green tint on her cheeks.
"Cmon, let's go make breakfast together." Eight led the short inkling down the hallway, stretching again.
