"My childhood bedroom?" Three furrowed her brow.

"If you grew up here, you would've had a bedroom! I wanna see where 'lil Riley spent her days." Eight explained

"Don't call me that. Its this way." Three rolled her eyes. She led Eight farther down the hallway, and into a new room. The walls were a lime green, a small mattress with no sheets, a closet, and a small desk with some pictures on it.

"Its empty." Eight thought out loud.

"I dont live here anymore." Three replied. Eight examined the pictures on the desk beside the bed. One was Three before she was 14. Still in her squid form. The next was her when she had just turned 14.

"Awww Three! You were so cute." Eight picked up one of the photo's.

"Hey! Quit it." Three, now embarrassed, snatched the photo and hid it in the drawer under the desk. Eight giggled.

"Lets just get ready for bed and pack the rest of my things for tomorrow." Three grabbed a change of clothes and headed for the bathroom to change. Eight quickly changed so she had time to look around the room more before Three scolded her again. She opened the closet to see Three's clothes.

I could at least pack for her. Eight thought. After packing a shirt or two, she caught eye of a ripped-up cape with a huge 3 on the back. Eight pulled it from the closet, and clipped it around her neck. She messed with it, pulling it up across her body in a dramatic pose while laughing. after a couple of seconds, Three walked into the room.

"Wha- EIGHT." Three yelled, closing the door behind her as to not wake her sister.

"I-uh, forgot to get rid of that old thing!" Three ran behind Eight and tugged at the cape.

"You weren't actually gonna get rid of it." Eight smirked at Three. Three shook her head with an irritated expression. Eight laughed.

"I knew you wouldn't. That was your prized possession!" Eight twirled around in the cape again. Three sighed.
"lets just go to bed." She set up some sheets and a pillow on the mattress, and laid down on it, her arms behind her head. Three never said anything, but she noticed how much more bubbly Eight acted when it was just the two of them.

"Don't act so edgy now. Three," Eight teased. "I'm just excited you're coming back for good tomorrow."

"It's not that big of a deal," Three protested. "It's not like I havent already been with you guys for like a weekend." Eight began to mock the inkling "Aw, i'm Three. I have to pretend I dont like my friends, but I really do! And I love agent Eight!" Three was going to scold her again, before hearing the last part.

"What?" She questioned.

"What," Eight echoed. "I didnt forget what you said that one night." Eight joined her friend on the bed, crawling onto her.

"You were like- 'I love you, Eight!' and then fell asleep." She explained. Three felt hot in her face, partly that Eight remembered her words before dozing off, and partly because of the octoling on top of her, wearing her cape.

"W-well I was tired, and I meant it platonically!" Three was mostly trying to convince herself.

"I never said it wasn't platonic..." Eight said flatly. Three and Eight were now flustered. Both were silent for a moment.

"I'm just messin' with you, Three!" Eight laughed softly. Three's tense body loosened, although she was still hot in the face. Eight rested a thumb on Three's scar. She winced. Three had only just noticed that Eight had her own set of scars from her battle with TarTar. The most noticeable one was on her left tentacle. The light blue slash was in the shape of an upside-down M. Eights sun-orange eyes looked tired despite her upbeat attitude. Three lifted a shaky hand and set it on Eights cheek. Her cheeks were hot compared to Three's cold hand. The two stared at each other with tired eyes. The sound of a door creaking made the two turn their heads quickly. Lilith had walked into the room.

"Uh-" The young inkling quickly closed the door again. Eight laughed, and rolled off of Three. Almost paralyzed from being so flustered, Three stood up and walked over to the door.

"What's up, Lil?" She opened the door to see Lilith standing awkwardly in the hall.

"I wanted a drink." She replied.

"Alright. Come on." Three led her sister downstairs. After getting a drink and being tucked again, Lilith was asleep again. Three and Eight finished packing, and headed to bed.
