The quiet sound of chatter behind Three was torture for her. She pulled out her headphones and began listening to an old playlist, not daring to face the octoling beside her. She had gotten Lilith onto the bus, grabbed her luggage and onto the bus without saying a word to her. Three shifted in her seat a bit, just enough to glance at eight without her noticing. She was half asleep, although she looked stressed. The bus stopped, and Three stood up.
"Hey, hey Eight." Three shook the agent awake.
"We're home." She pointed a thumb out the window. Eight stood up, still half-asleep, and followed Three out of the bus, luggage in arms. Three tried to avoid starting a conversation with the octoling. The events of last night still made butterflies in her stomach.
"Three, we promised we'd take Four shopping when we got home. You wanna un-pack and then go up to their house?" Eight turned to Three as she opened the house door.
"Uhm, sure." She scratched her head.

Eight walked into her house. It felt like forever since she had been home. She immediately went to her room. Eight sighed and set her luggage on the ground to pack later. She changed into new clothes, and waited for Three to finish un-packing. after a while, Three was ready.
"Four says they're waiting on us." Three said flatly outside of Eights door. Eight opened her door, and headed for the door again, longing to stay in her bed.
"I promised 4 i'd take them shopping, so I called up Pearl and Marina to come with us." Three didnt look up from her phone as she walked along-side Eight. Eight thought about the night before, and if Three was thinking about it like she was. Embarrassment flushed her face, or at least she thought it was embarrassment. Finally, the two were at the shopping center just outside of inkopolis. A cheerful young inkling waved over-dramatically at the pair.
"OVER HEREEEEE!!!" They gestured for them to come over.
"I think they know where we are..." A familiar giggle sounded in the same area. Eight recognized Marina's voice, followed by pearl's;
"These are the fanciest stores you can go to in all of this part of town!" She exclaimed. Eight agreed, the stores looked so sophisticated. Only inklings and octolings with shiny clothes and abilites were walking in the area, and the price-tags in the store windows were such big numbers that it confused Eight.
Will I be able to afford anything here?
"Come on you guys!" Agent 4 raced blindly into one of the shops, the others following.
"That was fun!!" Agent 4 pushed the door of one of the last shops open. The once baby blue sky was now a pale purple-black, with stars overhead. Pearl and Marina had left after eating at the food court, leaving the agents to go to one last store before calling it a night. Eight carried the most bags, she enjoyed shopping the most. While four carried two or three, and agent 3 only carried one, an un-interested look on her face.
"Can you believe how much Pearl could afford? I wouldn'tve been able to afford anything if it wasn't for her lending me a couple thousand!" Eight said with wide eyes.
"Yeah, her dad's like--crazy rich, and she gets a lot of money for being famous and all." Three pointed out, her tired eyes focused on her bags. Eight pulled her eyes away from Three and examined her own set of bags. They were heavy on her sore arms, but it was worth it to Eight, having such high-class gear. Finally at their apartment, Eight and Three parted from Four, and headed inside.
"Well i'm exhausted. I'm gonna finish packing and head to bed. Night, Three." Eight closed her door.
"Night." Three replied flatly.

Three sighed as she closed her bedroom door. All she could think about that evening was Eight. She quickly changed settled into bed, but sleep wouldn't come.
What the hell. What is wrong with me? I've never felt...like this. Am I sick? she growled in frustration. Usually she'd just get over any kind of sadness or anger she had, but this feeling wouldn't let her rest. Her stomach felt light, and her face hot, the feeling that she had felt the night before, Eight so close to her. She tried to take her mind off of Eight by finishing un-packing, but the only clothing left in the bag was her cape. she picked it up and began folding it, struggling not to be reminded of Eight wearing it, until she noticed the cloth had a familiar scent on it. Three was quickly reminded of Eight again. With a sigh of defeat, Three sat on her bed with the cape.
"You were all like--"I love you, Eight!" Eights teasing echoed in Three's head. Hot-faced and her mind racing, Three began to fall asleep with the cape close to her.
Screw you, Eight. Three had finally fallen asleep.
