The School Lock-In

*An hour later*
Marinette: *Sighs whilst writing*
Alya: Are you okay?
Marinette: I'm fine.
Alya: Are you sure?
Marinette: Yes. Totally. I'm just tired.
Alya: It's only 10am.
Marinette: Wait, the lock-in hasn't started yet?
Alya: No, it's starts after school. Are you sure you're okay?
Marinette: I told you I'm fine. I just... need some space. *Gets up and walks away*
Alya: *Watching her leave, gives her head a little shake then continues writing*

*In the locker room, Marinette is sitting on the bench with her head resting in her hands*
Adrien: *Walks in, sees her* Hey...
Marinette: *Sits up, sulking* Hey... D..Did Alya send you?
Adrien: No.. I... needed some space.
Marinette: *Smiles* Welcome to the club.
Adrien: *Smiles back* You mind if I sit next to you?
Marinette: *Nods her head slowly then looks down*
Adrien: *Sits next to her* So... you got a lot on your mind too?
Marinette: Yep...
Adrien: Me too... I can't stop thinking about my Mom.
Marinette: *Looks at him, sad*
Adrien: I just wanna know where she went... and most importantly... why...
Marinette: I'm really sorry, Adrien.
Adrien: It's okay...
*They sit there in awkward silence*
Adrien: H..how are you dealing... with the whole break up thing? Because I'm struggling... really hard...
Marinette: *Holds back her tears* Yea.. me too...
Adrien: I just wish I could tell her why I was lieing to her...
Marinette: *Looks at him* It's not so easy, is it? I... I wish I could tell Luka the full truth but the full truth is that I can't tell him why I keep disappearing...
Adrien: Some secrets you just can't share... you don't know how others will react...
Marinette: *A tear falls, she quickly wipes her face*
Adrien: Marinette... it's okay... you can cry...
Marinette: *Starts to tear up* I can't keep hiding secrets! I can't do it! I wish I could tell you aswell!
Adrien: *He quickly hugs her, stroking her hair* Tell me what's bothering you, Marinette.
Marinette: *Hugging back* I..I can't... it's too difficult to say...
Adrien: *Hugs her tighter* Tell me when you're ready. No matter what secret you have, it will never leave this room. You can always trust me...
Luka: *Walks in, sees them hugging, smiles a little and leaves*
Marinette: *Pulls away, wiping her eyes*
Adrien: Let me get you a tissue then whenever you wanna tell me this secret, I'll be there... *Gets up and leaves*
Tikki: *Pops her head out of Marinette's purse* You going to tell him?
Marinette: Tell him what?
Tikki: That you're Ladybug...
Marinette: I... I don't know, Tikki... he seems so trustworthy but... what if doesn't like that I'm Ladybug...
Tikki: Don't overthink it, Marinette. You tell him when you're ready.
Marinette: *Smiles at her*

*A few hours later*
Lila: *Sitting on the bench*
Marinette: *Walking past, holding a box of sewing material*
Lila: *Smirks, stands and screams* MARINETTE WATCH OUT! A SPIDER!
Marinette: *Screams and throws the box on the floor, stands on the bench* WHERE?!
Lila: *Laughs* I can't believe you fell for that! *Walks away*
Marinette: Grrrrrrrrr... *Gets off the bench and packs all the material on the floor*
Kagami: *Walking over and kneeling* You need some help?
Marinette: *Smiles and nods*
*They pick all the material off the floor and put it into the box*
Kagami: You know Adrien very well, right?
Marinette: I... uh... ye..yeah.. why...
Kagami: I figured since he kept your friendship bracelet, he considers you as his best friend.
Marinette: I.. um... yea... I guess...
Kagami: So do you know where he goes when he runs away from me?
Marinette: What do you mean?
Kagami: The whole time we was dating, all he did was lie about where he was. All I could imagine was the fact he might have been with you.
Marinette: Kagami, I would never do that to you. You're my friend. I was dating Luka at the time. I was kinda doing the same thing to him...
Kagami: So where have you been going?
Marinette: Where I was going was a personal matter and I'm guessing Adrien's the same. He really does miss his Mom so I guess he wanted to be alone.
Kagami: He would've told me that... but I guess when you want to be alone, you want to be alone.
Marinette: Yeah...
Kagami: Thanks, Marinette. *Smiles and walks away*
Marinette: Poor Kagami...
