CHAPTER 5 THE WAIT PART I

Time Leap of 1 year.....

Rajveer's POV

It was a weekend, Raj woke up in the morning today was a special day for him he was going to KMA today after a year, today was the day his Cadets were graduating, today his Protegee Naina was going to win the Sword of Honour for the best Cadet he was sure of it, today he was going to see his love after an entire year, today his best friend Naveen was going to get his photograph hung back on the wall of fame at KMA, his culprit had been punished.

Rajveer thought back to the last year, after his decision to go from KMA and stop being a mentor to Naina, He was devastated. He had filed the transfer request and it was accepted really quickly by BC with Lalaji's recommendation, he was posted to Delhi within 2 days. On his Last day in KMA, all the Cadets and faculty had sadly given him a grand farewell. Before Night Out Naina had come into his quarters for the last time.

PAST:

Naina : Sir , May I come in Raj: Of Course, Cadet Singh. Naina: I would like to talk to you about something important. Sir, thank you accepting my request for going from KMA. But I know I owe you an explanation about the same.

Raj: No Naina, no need for any explanations, I owe you an apology on behalf of my family for what happened that day after the court martial. I apologize for my Bhabhi's behaviour. It was obvious that you were hurt by her accusations and made the request.

Naina: I made the request because of you Sir and not her.

Raj looked up in surprise.

Naina continued: Do you remember our old conversations, I had told you once that if I had to choose between my feelings and your Career and reputation, I would choose the latter. I change what I said. If I choose between proving my brother's innocence and having you here as my mentor on the one side and your life, career and reputation on the other side, I will choose the latter. I know my brother will approve of my choice. You have taught me how to be a soldier, I will the best Cadet passout next year and I will be the best soldier I can. Thank you for all your support I know you will be supporting me wherever you are.

Raj was overwhelmed at her response: I have complete faith in you Naina, I will always support you even if it is from afar. I would like to make a request to you too before leaving. Please forgive Chauhan saab. I know all you cadets have been angry with him after my trial, but Chauhan was blind in his actions, Salve manipulated him. But I still know he will support you cadets in need, in fact I trust him to do it. He had promised me he will always be supporting you. He had met after the trial to apologize about all his actions since coming to KMA. His anger and jealously blinded him and almost broke our friendship. I am ready to give him a second chance and I would like you cadets to do so too.

Naina looked at him with a smile: Yes sir, I promise you to that sir. I will make the others agree too. I believe all of us will give him a second chance since you decided. You gave most of us second chances too especially me and now we would give it to Chauhan Sir too. It's only fair.

He had left the next day with a heavy but determined heart.

Rajveer jolted out of his thoughts with the sound of his Cell phone ringing. He looked at the caller ID and picked up. Other side: Good morning Chotte Raj: Dada, good morning. Musafir: Going to meet your lady love today. Raj: Dada... I am meeting everyone in KMA. Musafir: yeah yeah , dress well she has to fall flat or faint seeing you today okay. Raj rolled his eyes His dada the famous wolf dog businessman in public acted like an annoying elder brother in private never leaving a chance to embarrass him. Between him and Jai's pranks he sometimes felt he was the only sane brother among them. He always wondered how Anya Bhabhi was able to put up with these two on a constant basis. The moment he thought of his Bhabhi he diverted his thoughts to something else desperately he had fallen silent for a moment. But it was enough time for Musafir to guess his thoughts. Musafir: Stop thinking of my wife and listen to me he said jokingly. Only I am allowed to think of her. Raj: Dada yaar, stop it with your jokes in the morning. Musafir: Okay I will be serious now. It's been a year since you came to meet all of us. All of us have already reached from Mumbai. Ammi has been scolding me non-stop for not asking you to meet up with us for a year. Before Raj could protest, he continued: Invite your lady love, the cadets and friends from the army at the graduation to come stay at Awadh for a week to celebrate the Janmasthami festival together with us. Your Naina should meet her future in laws no time like the present and about your Bhabhi she is with her laadla Jai and will also come to Awadh next week for the Janmasthami festival. We can sort out the issues between Ammi's two daughter in laws at the festival. Raj this has gone on for too long. Raj: this is your brother's Royal Order go for the graduation and bring your Naina and everyone else for the Janmasthami festival end of discussion. Raj : Okay who can deny the great wolf dog.

Raj kept the call. He continued thinking about the past events.

PAST CONTINUED:

After leaving KMA he took decision to help Naina and the Cadets from far. He called up his friend Gunraj Randhwa asked him to apply for a transfer to KMA for the year. He sent Captain Gunny to KMA on the advice of Tripathi to guide the Cadets. He discussed it with Abhi who suggested the same to BC that he be taken as the drill instructor as Abhi was dealing the VP responsibilities. Gunraj and Abhi kept an eye out for the cadets as well as the spy. The Cadets forgave Abhi for their role in Raj's trial and started getting close to Gunny Ustaad .But none of the Cadets knew that Gunny was sent by Raj. They missed him terribly and was determined to bring in the spies who tried to trap their Rajveer sir. Gunny Abhi and the Cadets worked secretly but unknown to all of them their enemies had a card up their sleeve. They brought in one of the army high-ranking officials Maj. Bhargav who was assigned as the Communications and Strategy teacher. He tried to malign Naina accusing her of having an affair with her teacher but since Raj left no one gave any heed to the rumours he could not accuse her of having an affair with either Gunny or Abhi as they were from influential families and neither of them showed any partial treatment to Naina or the other six cadets openly and Naina had requested Cap Shalini as her mentor and Yudi had gotten Gunny as his mentor. Their secret investigations bore fruit and Maj Bhargav was caught trying to steal the triggers and this was promptly flashed in the news with the help of Zara Sheikh an associate of Captain Tripathi. No one could use influence and save Maj Bhargav, He confessed he was part of a spy organisation headed by an unknown called Eagle. He confessed Ritu was part of the organisation and Naveen was trapped by Ritu and him by planting false evidence as he was the investigating officer in Naveen's case. With this Naveen's case was reinvestigated by the army and he was proved innocent and Bhargav was convicted. The Cadets were now going to pass out of KMA and he was going to see Naina and others today and congratulate them.

He thought of his Dada's decision to invite Naina and the others to Awadh, it made him think of his Bhabhi. After the confrontation outside the court, he had been very upset with his Bhabhi she informed the family about the trial and everything went haywire. His Dada was furious with him, Dadiammi and Badiammi had been upset and called him to their home in Mumbai. Jai was out of station for a concert and he had called and shouted at him. He had told them about everything in detail and made the decision to move to Delhi. Everyone resisted his decision apart from Dada and surprisingly Bhabhi. Dada knew that Raj was upset with Anya Bhabhi for accusing Naina. He had promised him that he will talk to her about Naina and had been constantly teasing him at finally finding love. Raj and his Bhabhi had a tensed relationship today he had refused to take her calls or even talk to her. But he still cared for her. He had always hoped his Bhabhi would support him in every major decision of his life she had supported his career but it was his brother who supported his love. He knew that his Bhabhi had gone into over protective mode the first time she met Naina, but he had clearly expressed his anger to her on accusing Naina without knowing her. She had taken his anger quietly but still insisted that he should not go back to KMA and regarding Naina she never spoke of her at all after that outburst after the trial. But Raj had not still forgiven her, so he had avoided going home. The rest of the family except Anya Bhabhi had visited him in Delhi and tried to convince him to visit home but he always found excuses. This made Badi Ammi upset and Dadi Ammi was very angry at him for refusing to come home. His Dada understood his feelings and wisely did not bring up the subject.

Dada had encouraged him to help her from afar, he asked him to support Naina's decision to tackle everything alone and trust her and make sure his friends, Abhi and Gunny protected her. Now Naveen was proven innocent, though they haven't caught the leader Eagle, Bhargav's confessions proved that there were other spies in the army and Naveen was framed. Naina's wish of proving her brother innocent independently was fulfilled. Today he would go to KMA and take the first step of making her his. He hoped that Naina would like his family and they would like her in turn. It was time for Naina and Anya Bhabhi to meet again and this time around he and Dada would bring them together.
