I woke up to the same annoying buzzing sound I have been waking up to for years. I hopped out of bed instead of rolling, which was weird but I wasn't going to complain. I got up and had extra time so I stopped at the coffee shop before heading to class.
"Someone's in an unusually good mood?" Ms. Arrows said smiling because I was happy for once.
"Yeah, I guess. I don't know why though" I said looking at her.
"You don't have to have a reason but knowing you there is one" She said with an 'I know its a boy' look on her face.
I looked at her shocked because she was right. I was this happy after my weekend with Aaron. There is no other reason I could think of.
I took my seat as students filled the class and for once I was paying attention in that class. Ms. Arrows was talking about this history of pantomime.
It was boring but I remember it. I walked out of that class and into my next and again my teacher noticed that I seemed happier than usual but they didn't do much of anything about it.
Mr. Wood dismissed our class and for the first time I was excited for Biology. Probably because I got to be with Aaron but I was excited anyway. This whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense. We have been best friends all our lives and we just started dating. Not much has changed except for I want to be around him more often which is weird since I am almost always with him anyway.
Whether or not it made sense to me didn't matter because there isn't anything I could or want to do about it. I am happy for once so I am just going to leave things as they are.
I went to biology and sat down. I was looking around for Aaron but didn't see him. Then someone sat down next to me.
"Are you looking for someone?" Aaron said with a sneaky grin.
"Yes, actually but I can't find them" I say pretending to look around again.
Aaron and I laughed for a second before our class started. Today was presentation day again but our teacher said he wasn't going to make all of us present since we had a test coming up soon. Thankfully he wasn't going to make Aaron and I present since Aaron is a star student and gets out of everything if he needs to.
I sat with Aaron during the presentations and we took a few notes and talked a bit. While he was taking notes I took the book from his bag and snuck it into mine. He noticed but didn't say anything. Some of the presentations seemed to drag on and on. That class period seemed 40 hours long.
Luckly, the period did come to an end, but very slowly. While walking to our next class I sort of wished I didn't have to go. Ever since the whole Mr. Moon knows secrets and is hiding things from the government, I don't feel comfortable in his class.
Aaron noticed my discomfort and put his arm around me and pulled me close to him. We walked in and walked to Mr. Moon's desk.
We looked at him and he asked us if we decided to accept his help. Aaron and I looked at each other one more time before answering him.
"Yes, but we need to know how you know so much about this" I said, slightly leaning more into Aaron for safety.
"Fair enough. The first girl born with a dot like yours was a close friend of mine. She wrote that book hoping the next person, you, would take on the job she didn't get to do" He said.
Aaron and I looked at him. We wanted to believe his story but we didn't know if we could. We sounded like he was telling the truth but something still seemed off.
"Okay, deal," Aaron said to me.
I looked at him as if to say 'are you sure we can trust him about this' and he nodded back as if saying 'yes'. I was still sceptical but knowing Aaron was pretty sure about this made me calm down a bit.
We walked to our seats and Mr. Moon started class. I could tell Aaron wasn't listening to a thing going on. To be honest I wasn't either. We never really pay attention in this class but today we had a reason.
We were both a bit freaked out that there was a girl with a multi-colored dot before me. We were also confused on why we were never told. My family and I were told that there was no one in history with a dot like mine.
I couldn't tell what was distracting Aaron but my head was spinning with questions. I was snapped out of it when I accidently locked eyes with Mr. Moon. He was talking about the projects we were doing on the history of our dots.
His eyes seemed to burn holes into mine. It was very uncomfortable so I forced my eyes to look at something else. I then looked at Aaron to see him looking right back at me.
"You okay?" he said loud enough for me to hear but not anyone else.
"Yeah just a little jittery" I said smiling with a little laugh to shake it off.
The class ended and to avoid Mr. Moon, Aaron and I went out quickly with the herd of kids all leaving at once. I had to say goodbye to Aaron since I still had other classes before I was done for the day.
The rest of my classes were boring as usual except for one. In Ms. Heather's creative writing class. The class is usually just us sitting quietly and writing, however, today our teacher kept looking at me weird.
I don't really know what was going on with her but it was weird. It could just be me being paranoid but when I went to leave she asked to talk to me.
"Yes?" I asked while taking a step closer to the door.
"You seemed distracted in class the past few days. I wanted to make sure you were okay" She said she looked worried about me.
"Yeah I am fine. It's just been a rough few days with a lot of projects and presentations due" I said relieved because she didn't know anything about Mr. Moon.
Then I went to the diner to meet up with Aaron for some food.
