278 A.C.
King's Landing

A woman's stubbornness can be the death of her — and it was true in Leia's case.  No, she wasn't dead, but she would not bow to Rhaegar.

At night, Rhaegar and Leia would not say anything to each other, nor take any glances in each other's direction.

It didn't help that Rhaegar was also stubborn, refusing to accept that he was in the wrong.

They had both done their best to avoid each other, but it was not a surprise that they would walk down the same hall at some point.

Leia had broken her fast with her ladies in waiting, but had dismissed them soon after.  She had spoken to Myra as well earlier, Leia had missed talking to her old friend.

Leia was currently walking about in the courtyard, and was confused when she heard clashing of swords.  Curious, Leia walked towards the noise.

When she turned round the corner, she saw men sparring with each other.  She saw Arthur sparring with Oswald.  She had spoken a few times to the Kingsguard, but had avoided them recently, due to their known friendship with her husband.

They spotted the Princess standing in the shadows and ceased immediately.  Arthur walked up to Leia and greeted her, as well as Oswald.  She smiled at them both.

"So, Princess, why are you hanging around with the dastards and us?" Arthur asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Arthur, I have told you many times, call me Leia.  And to answer your question, I was walking around the courtyard and heard noise.. I was curious." Oswald laughed at her response. "What?" She asked unaware, turning to face Ser Whent.

"You heard noise, and it was swords clashing, right?" She nodded. "Now, a normal lady would assume some sort of swordplay is occurring, and would avoid it.. but you walked towards it."

"..yes? Also, I'm not a 'normal' lady, I am a princess have you know." She smirked.

They all laughed and continued to chat for a while.  It felt nice to talk to someone other that her ladies in waiting.  She could only take so much talk about stitching and gossip.

Their laughter fell short when a man walked over.  He cleared his throat and Leia looked up.  She sucked in a deep breath when she met those same dark indigo eyes, she had came to love and know.

She swallowed harshly as she saw Arthur exchange a look of worry with Rhaegar.  Rhaegar only nodded at Arthur, and they walked over to grab a sword.

Leia was confused as to why they hadn't said anything and looked at Oswald.  He met Leia's magenta eyes, then his eyes drifted to his friends. "Sometimes we don't need to speak to know what the other is thinking."

Leia hummed in response and she watched them prepare to spar.  Rhaegar must of known she was staring because when he saw her, he smirked in response.

She didn't want to be like the other maidens, and cocked her head humourlessly, her signature smirk gracing her face.  He laughed and shook his head.  His eyes dropped to his shoes as he tied his hair half up.

Gods, she didn't think it would be this difficult ignoring him and her.. desires.

As the men started sparring, she couldn't help but admire her husband.  Her awe only increased when he abandoned his tunic, revealing his chest.

Leia couldn't be happier that the maidens stayed away from this area — if anyone saw or knew Rhaegar was so exposed here, it would be swarmed with maidens.
