Obanai was in love.
Well what he liked to call love.

With all the blood and splattered organs around the room and staining the tatami floor. Yes he was in love. He was in lover with her..

(Y/n) Hosikei. He was in love with her.

Originally she was the sound pillars tsugoku. But mysteriously the sound pillar was found in the woods with a hatchet in his head. His wives at the funeral mourned it wondering who could do such a thing.

Obanai was so in love with her he even planted rumors and idea's in peoples heads about the death of the sound pillar, such as maybe the flame pillar did it.

By doing this he had created doubt and disbelief. Doing so he made it seem he was to only innocent pillar you could fully trust. Because who would believe a murder?

Sitting in the tatami floor and smiling like a fool, he stared at her lifeless body. All the Kakushi around them were dead. All with either heads next to their bodies or the body's itself just in such a disarray. They all looked sliced to bits.

Obanai swore he didn't kill them. They were in his way to love her.

She sat there and opened her eyes slowly. The room was dimly lit with the candles. But the smell of iron was strong.Very strong too.

(Y/n) looked toward the only figure she could see in her blurry and obscure vision. "Iguro-san?" She heard him hum sweetly. Too sweet for any sane mans tongue.

"yes my love? How was your nap after our little talk?" The word he spoke had no use of kindness more so annoyance, Obanai just wanted to get the questions out of the way and more so the loving part. He just wanted her to see how much effort and care he put into each 'accident'.

But he knew better than to let her go too far with questions. Some things were better left unsaid than to be spoken. He knew this. He knew due to how many questions he answered perfectly after his mission with the now deceased water pillar. How he faked empathy and sympathy to make it seem he cared for Giyuu when he didn't.

How he even told (Y/n) about how the water pillar can be seen as a creep and or have spoken ill about her. How often when asked about her he would speak as so lowly of her. Obanai told her this and of course who would believe a perv-ish creep and rude person over him?

He did the same thing with her own mentor Tengen, about how he spoke ill of her skill and thought of letting her go and asking for a different tsugoku. Obanai only did her a favor and told her the truth rather than lie. Who would believe a mean mentor over him?

Even killing the rest were just as easy and saying their deaths were all part of karma for what they said or did against her.

None the pillars said anything to or about the girl. Some didn't even know her.

Gyomei was easy in Obanai's opinion. He simply forced him to commit seppuku. He just wrote a note about someone Gyomei cared for and said some uncalled for things. Next thing you know a pillar meeting and funeral was called for.

Obanai throughout each death made her think that someone is trying to off the pillars and that he needed someone by his side since he had no one left. He comforted her through each one. Scowling at when she sobbed deeply for the death of Kyojuro Rengoku. He was essentially her father or older brother figure.

He sat on the tatami mat floor again and told her the story he had already planned out. It was too perfect to not believe. Despite the growing disgust in her stomach at the sight of the serpent pillar. She trusted this man more than some people to their significant other.

He held her as she weeped for the dead. Her tears were shedding onto his ripped and bloodied haori. He made it seem he was attack when he was the attacker. He made it seem he was a victim of loosing his friends and comrades when he was the one who sent them to their death beds. He cooed her and promised her to love and care for her as much as he can and in his power to protect her.

But from who? No one. No one was left.

Who could she believe? No one was left and soon enough the master would install more pillars and he would do the routine again.

Who would you believe? Your savior?

Or the rest of the modern and sane world.

She knew her own mistake...
