OiKage headcanon

In post-timeskip, Tooru and Tobio are long-term lovers and play against each other in a match back in Japan where Tooru decides to stay if the Schweiden Adlers team win.

The opposing team win, causing Tooru to stay true to his claim and stay in Japan from then on.

Tooru has been on social media often and has found that a lot of prejudice and discrimination of homosexuality has been happening in Japan to a point where police have been involved a few times. He knew that this would scare Tobio if he was ever outed. Tooru had had enough of the homophobia and the hate towards gay men and women.

The news and TV cameras come up to him and question him about the loss of the Argentina team to the Schweiden Adlers, and he comments on it. He then yells to get the entire stadium's attention, causing everyone to go quiet. He walks to the middle of the stadium and, with confidence, speaks loud.

"Being in Argentina may mean I've not been in my home country for a long time, but it does NOT stop me seeing what is on social media and what is happening to people here. Acts of homophobic discrimination are getting out of hand and it's time that some of us - or at least one of us - makes a difference. The hate crimes, bullying and harrassment against people who are not deemed 'normal' or 'free of sin' are disgusting, filthy, selfish and cruel acts on others, and I vow to put an end to it!"

Tooru looks over to Tobio, who is standing confused and in shock. The brunette walks over to Tobio, pulls him to his previous location, and interlocks their hands.

"I want to make a difference. I want to SHOW people that love is love, and just because someone is not attracted to the opposite sex does NOT and NEVER WILL mean that we are not humans, that we don't have emotions  feelings and struggles. I'm tired.

This needs to stop."

With that, Tooru pulls Tobio into a passionate, loving and serious kiss in front of every person, every camera and every reporter in the stadium. Pulling back after less than ten seconds, he turns again, tears in his eyes and voice shaky. He lifts his and Tobio's interlocked hands up in the air.

"I, Oikawa Tooru, professional volleyball player and regular, human man, am in love. I am gay, I am in love with a man, and I AM PROUD TO BE SOMEONE DIFFERENT."

Tobio is speechless. He doesn't know how to react or what to say. He's terrified...

Until the atmosphere of shock becomes one of encouragement, cheering and multiple reports of the events that had just happened.

The two men shared a look, eyes burning with tears, and hugged tightly, not wanting to let go as if the action would kill them both.

He'd done it.

Oikawa Tooru had come out as homosexual to an entire country where gay marriage was not legal and many of the population believed that gay did not exist and was wrong.

Tobio and Tooru pulled back from the hug, holding each other still and foreheads bumping lightly, tears mutually shed.

"I love you, Tobio."

"I love you too, Tooru."
