Tendou has an extreme fear of being left behind/alone.

One day when his insecurities kept internally beating him up, his fear started to get the best of him and caused him to end up locked in a bathroom stall in the middle of lunch break, sobbing to himself from intrusive thoughts and anxiety and panic.

It was only when Ushijima entered the bathroom to find him in the state he was, that he actually felt like oxygen existed. He suddenly didn't feel so alone anymore.

They had sat and talked about all of the things Tendo was going through at that moment in time, the redhead eventually ending up cuddled into Ushijima, big, comforting and safe arms wrapped around his shoulders. The last few tears were shed and last few insecurities were discussed, bringing to the end of their lunch break.

They left the bathrooms to walk to class together and spend most of their class cuddling or holding hands at the back of the room, teachers not commenting at all.

Tendo knew that people had left him in the past, but the future changes, and he knows that his team wouldn't ever leave him.

Especially not Ushijima.
