The Problems of Being a Hybrid

Chapter 11

Sorry this took so long!!!! I had exams, and I didn't even have time to touch my laptop. But now a new semester has just started and I pretty much have no work, so I'll try to get more chapters in. Please vote and comment if you enjoy my writing, it really motivates me and makes my day, so I hope you enjoy :)

 “What?!?!?!”

“I know this may sound really surprising and a little unreal, but I think I have the location of your mother. You may be surprised at how I have managed to pull this off in only a few hours, but I have paid the very best detectives on this planet very handsomely to make sure that this gets done as soon as possible,” he says calmly.

“Is this real? Am I still sleeping? This is insane. I…I don’t think I can believe this. Jace if you really find my mother for me I…I don’t know what I would do. I would be so happy, and I would just be so excited, and so emotional, and I would just love you so much and, and…” I trail off. It would be great to have my mother back. If Jace could really find her for me, I don’t think I would ever be able to repay his good deed.

“Sweetheart you don’t need to repay me. I am your mate. I’m here to do these things for you. To make you happy and make you feel comfortable,” he says as he smiles sweetly at me. Not being able to hold it back any longer, I throw myself at him and hug around the neck. It’s a little awkward since I’m sitting next to him on the edge of the bed, but I didn’t care. He quickly responds by putting his arms around me, and holding me tight to him.

“So when are you going to go out and find her?” I ask once I pull back.

“Well, I was planning on getting this done as soon as possible for you.”

“Can you do it today?” I didn’t even bother trying to mask my excitement. There is a chance that I can see my mother!! And if I can see her today, well why wait?

“Today? Well, if you really want us to go then I guess we could. Anything for you,” he says as he leans in close and gently places his lips on mine. I feel extremely uncomfortable right now. I want to keep kissing this vampire, but I also need to ask him a burning question. Probably having read my mind, he pulls away and laughs, but still holds me to him.

“Ok what is it?”

“Well, I was wondering if I could come with you…”

Immediately his face pales, more so than it already is.

“What?” he asked barely above a whisper.

“Well, I haven’t seen my mother in a very long time, and I just really want to see her so badly, that’s all. I don’t think I can just sit here and wait while you guys go and find her. I’m really sorry, but I just really need to see her. Please, can I come with you?” I beg.

He seems to consider this for a while.

“Please? I promise I’ll listen to you when we’re out there. I won’t run away and I’ll tell you before I do anything. I’ll try to stay by your side the whole entire time. Please?” I need to somehow convince him.

He stares at me, looking like he was having a mental debate. After what seemed like forever, he finally sighs in defeat and gives me a small smile.
