Two small, identical birds fluttered down to settle on a windowsill. One of them fluffed up its dark greyish feathers and nestled into the other's wing. Both little creatures settled there peacefully.

Not for very long.

There was a couple of loud thuds.

"Get up! Right now!"

The door burst open and a disheveled man entered. His greasy hair, bloodshot eyes and dirty clothes were enough to tell anyone that he meant bad news.

The two little birds took off in fright, now nothing more than tiny, dark specks disappearing into the bright sky.

The tall girl who had been sleeping peacefully prior to the disturbance sat upright immediately, staring at the man with wide eyes. "Yes..." She rasped, voice slightly lower than usual.

"Ahn Yujin! Didn't I tell you to set your alarm?! Huh?"

The man made his way to the young girl, grabbing her hair and forcing her to stand up, ignoring her little squeals of pain.

"You better get to school on time... If I receive any complaints about you being late, you're going to get it from me. Understood?" The man glared into the girl's frightened eyes until she nodded quickly. Maybe if he'd looked a little longer and harder, he would have noticed the resentment in the pools of deep hazel.

"Get ready now." The man pulled the girl closer by her collar before pushing her backwards and releasing her, causing her to fall hard on her back. Her head slammed hard against her wardrobe as the man left the room, slamming the door shut.

"Ah...fuck," Yujin mumbled as she rubbed the back of her head where it had hit the wood of her wardrobe. Her head throbbed painfully as she stood up to change into her uniform, her eyes bloodshot due to her lack of sleep. She recalled studying well past midnight into the early hours of the morning the previous night.

Yujin groaned as she stretched out her long limbs, hearing the satisfying pops of her joints. The purple haired girl slipped off her pajamas, before putting her arms through the sleeves of her hoodie.

She squinted her eyes in search of a pair of jeans, rubbing them vigorously in attempt to clear her hazy vision and allow her eyes to adjust to the lighting quicker.

She reached into her messy wardrobe where her pants usually were, feeling around for the familiar texture of her favourite denim jeans before pulling them out, causing a whole pile of clothes to fall out of the wardrobe and onto the floor.

The tall girl grunted in annoyance and scooped the clothes up with one swift motion, shoving them back in the wardrobe and slamming the door shut before the clothes could fall out again.

As she was brushing her teeth, she heard an obnoxious honk from outside the house. She peered out of the bathroom window and was met with a familiar car. Hurriedly, she finished brushing her teeth and slung her bag over her shoulder before dashing out of the house. For the first time that day, she grinned when she saw the familiar brunette. Opening the car door, a cool blast of air blew at her from the car's air conditioner as the girl in the car reciprocated Yujin's grin.

"Morning, Jin." She reached over and ruffled the younger's purple hair.

"Morning Chae," The purple haired girl got into the car and shut the door before buckling her seatbelt.

"Have you eaten?" The dancer asked, almost as if she didn't know the answer to her own question.

"You ask me that every day and always get the same answer...What's the point of asking? You know I didn't eat." Yujin scrunched up her nose and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
