6 : Secret lead to promise

Yoongi's pov :

Jimin's flustered face is so cute that I wanna capture that moment and keep him in my pocket.

"Yoongi!" My thoughts were cut off by Jimin's voice as he waves at me, stopping in front of a store.

"This is the place?" He nods and pushes the door to enter, keeping the door open for me.

"It's a new book store plus gift store," Jimin explains when I joined him and my eyes drift to the inside of the store. It was filled with books and on the other side, there was a small corner where the cards and gifts are displayed.

"So, I bought you here because I thought you might love books," Jimin says while smiling sweetly.

"I don't love books that much but I read some books which interest me," I replied while looking around until a book caught my eyes.

"Oh, this one.." I picked up a book that looked familiar to me.

"You like this one?" Jimin peeked over my shoulder, slightly putting his chin on my shoulder.

"I have seen this series of books in my friend's sleeve but I think this is the new one." Jimin nods while smiling.

"It is new, there's the sticker of the new arrival." I slightly turn to face Jimin who was a little surprised by my movement and blushed a little before stepping back.

"I should buy this for him." I smiled back while walking around more. Jimin kept standing there while playing with his cardigan's hem.

"Jimin?" He shot his head up and quickly ran over to me then we proceed to look around.

After spending enough time at the book store, I took Jimin to a small cafe for his ice cream. He tried to stop me but I didn't listen to him and dragged him with me.

"Are you sure...I mean I didn't mean it.." Jimin kept asking the same question even after we ordered what we want. He's so adorable that I can't even get mad at him.

"Jimin, it's fine. It's my treat anyway. So, relax and enjoy your ice cream. It's melting." Jimin lowered his head being embarrassed and shy.

"Thank you.." He mumbles before picking up his spoon to eat his ice cream. I ordered an iced americano as usual.

"Isn't that a lot bitter.." I lift my eyes from my drink when I heard that soft voice of the other. He stared at my drink being a little worried.

"It's okay for me." He makes a disgusted face before engulfing another spoon. A minute passed without us saying anything until I saw a spoon in front of me. A spoon of ice cream to be precise.

"Huh?"

"You bought it so why don't you have a bite?" Jimin smiled widely while holding the spoon in front of me.

"It's okay, you can ha-"

"I insist!" Jimin cuts me off and shoves the spoon towards me. Just because he's cute, I accepted the sugary ice treat and eat it well to show Jimin that it's gone.

"Nice, right?!" I nod and then the thought of Jimin's scent occurred to me. I want to ask him about that but...

"Yoongi..." I looked up to see Jimin poking his melted ice cream with his spoon and leaning his face on the other hand.

"Yeah?" Jimin lifts his head to meet my eyes.

"Did you notice that I have no scent? Or you have noticed but didn't ask me?" I gulp down.

Did he read my mind or something?

"Uh..since it was a little unappreciated for me to ask an omega direct questions ...so I didn't. I have noticed that on the first day." I had no choice to answer him.

"That's nice of you. But I won't mind if you would've asked me. I would gladly answer you." I was beyond surprised by his statement.

"So..how did it happened...I mean your scent.." Jimin sighs before leaning back to his chair.

"It happened when I was in my mom's womb. Had a tough time during the birth and my parents tried everything. Lastly, they found out that my scent is just got sealed." It was a rare case of scent getting sealed or removed from the person.

"Sealed..then how can you get it back?" Jimin sadly smiled at me with an unknown gaze.

"One of the oldest members in my family said that it will only be back by my mate." He takes a small breath.

"Only my mate can break the seal and let me scent-free." He smiles again but it's not bright nor wide, just a soft gentle smile.

"So, why haven't your mate done that yet?" Jimin frowns but later on started to laugh.

"I don't have a mate. Geez .." I think it was rude of me for asking him that.

"I'm sorry." Jimin leans back on his hands and stares at me.

"What about you? Do you have one?" He asks interestingly. I just chuckled it out.

"No, unfortunately. I haven't found one yet. I guess they are better at hiding." He giggles.

"Well, until then I'll stick to you! So, that you won't feel lonely!" I smiled while looking away.

"What about you find your mate first then?" Jimin's smile dropped and he looked away from me.

"I won't have a mate." I stared at him being confused.

"Why is that so?" Jimin pursed his lips.

"I'm an omega, Yoongi. Omegas attract their mates to them by their scent. I don't have one so I won't find my mate." I felt sorry for him now.

"Then ..what will happened to you. ." Jimin sighs as he finally looks at me.

"I'll die if I don't find mine. That's the rule." I bit my lower lip when I heard those words.

"Hey! It's okay! I'm still alive now, so let's be friends until we find your mate!" He smiled after chirping like he hasn't said something serious a few minutes ago.

"Yeah, I guess so." I gave up and agree with him but I won't let him die without having a mate.

Jimin's Pov :

After finishing our treats, we started to head back and Yoongi is walking me home again.

"Jimin.." I turned around to face Yoongi, Yoongi was quiet for a while.

"Yeah?" Yoongi stares at me and walks closer to me. He held his hand out for me for some reason.

"Huh?"

"Let's promise something." I was confused by his sudden statement.

"What?"

"That we will find our mates." I smiled at him, well mockingly.

"Yoongi, I can't have a mate-"

"I will find your mate. If I can't then I'll stick to you always." I was a little surprised by his words.

"What about you..what will you do if you find your mate first.." I asked.

"Then I'll still have time for you. I won leave you alone! I'll be your friend just like you said." He chirped while putting on his big smile.

"Yoongi.." He stares at me but it was a little different gaze. It was like a loving gaze.

"Thank you for staying with me." I walked closer to him and stared at his hand. Yoongi looked down but slowly removes his hand until I grabbed his hand. I intertwined our pinkies and looked up with a smile.

"That's how you make a promise." Yoongi smiles widely where his precious gums appeared.

I have a new close friend.
