It had been a day since the incident with Diego. When the two of you had to slip away from each other's grasp, you had immediately regretted and missed it. And you still really wanted to actually hold his hand, not his gloved hand...
T.T seemed to enjoy the show, as she kept hitting you with her elbow knowingly. If she had eyebrows, you knew she would be wiggling them non stop. But you did have to thank her a bit. If it wasn't for your stand, you wouldn't have had it in you to pursue Diego.
The two of you were considerably close to the goal, but it would still take days to reach it. The terrain was still snowy, and moving too quickly would be too dangerous, tiring the horses out. Personally, you couldn't care less about how long it took. The more time you had alone with Diego, the better for you!
Now, you estimated it was well into the day. Soon, it would be time to set up camp and retire for the night. You were still traveling with Diego, much to your surprise and delight. You knew that the reporters love to spread all kinds of information about the popular contestants, and one of the things they said the most was how Dio always worked and traveled alone. Which, for once, was actually true. So the fact that he was willingly staying with you made your heart pound. God, you knew you were too far gone when something as simple as that made you blush.
Both of you rode in a peaceful silence, with the wind and crunch of the snow rhythmically sounding in your ears. You wondered how Diego was faring in the cold. You understood that because of his stand power, he was a lot more prone to being cold. But he was very good at masking it...
You turned your attention elsewhere. Now, you were hoping for night to fall quickly. A very large part of you were hoping that an event like the previous one would happen again. What could you say? Love makes you think crazy things. Your mind was beginning to trail off into all the cute possibilities until you noticed that your traveling partner stopped moving.
"Hmm? Diego, what's wrong?" You were praying that it wasn't some stand attack or something, because your body was in no shape for that much moving again.
You could see Dio was tense, and his eyes were narrowed straight ahead. Turning your own sight forwards, you could see a campfire, with two men around it, their horses near them. Usually, that would be normal, but the area they chose was far from suitable for camping. It was out in the middle of nowhere, and furthermore, these men looked like they barely had any belongings. Well, now you understand why Diego was on edge now.
But you being you, weren't going to let a measly pair of two random people stop you! And so you urged your horse forward, which caused Diego to speak up immediately.
"...Where are you going?"
"I'm continuing to walk our path to the goal, Diego. Two random guys aren't gonna stop me, you know. I'm pretty strong, actually," you said, playfully tapping your non existent muscles.
"You are too trustworthy."
"And you are too on guard. Well, if anything happens, I can count on you, right?" You smiled, motioning with your arm to move on.
Diego's heart quickened for a few seconds. He liked when you relied on him. Even though he would not let anyone order him around, he felt strangely calm as he caught up with you. Dio wasn't taking any chances though, as he began to activate his ability, his mouth beginning to tear.
The men noticed you and stood up, beginning to wave to you. Okay, now you were slightly becoming a bit scared but you pressed forward, until eventually Diego and you were in front of their little campsite. Diego was watching them with his usual very cold eyes, and wasted no time drilling them with questions.
