Part 87: Flare

"Shh.." Techno put a finger to his lips.

Everyone stayed quiet, hearing the growls and hissing.

"It's going to sniff us out.." Dream whispered.

"Come on." Techno quietly said. "We can't stay out in the open."

Techno stayed low to the ground and snuck over around a corner, with the others following him.

"We can't stay out in the open." Darryl said.

-The underlined words mean that they're whispering/talking quietly-

"However we lose it, it can't escape this world. It's either kill it or lead it far away from the portal where it can't find it." Techno said.

The growls were getting louder.

"Do you know what those things sense?" Dream asked Darryl.

"I'm not sure.. It might be by sound or sight. Because Stitches observes my movement carefully.." Darryl responded.

"We need to stay quiet." Techno said. "Let's go."

"I can't move.." Skeppy said, pinned against the wall.

"Come on." Darryl said. He grabbed Skeppy's sleeve and pulled him along.

"Just, keep moving. Just keep moving.." Skeppy muttered to himself.

There was a roar. It echoed throughout the land.

"It's roars sound like a screaming phantom.. Creepy." Dream said.

Techno shushed him as they continued on, basically crawling.

Darryl kept Skeppy in front of him. "Just go."

There were aggressive snarls getting louder.

"I think we should make a run for it.." Dream said.

"You kidding? That'll get it's attention." Techno said.

"Maybe Dream's right.." Darryl said.

"No.. We need to stay quiet." Techno refused to let them take the run. "We can't even outrun it in the first place."

"Ugh. Fine." Dream said.

"You do not argue, with the King." Techno growled.

"Please don't make this more kinky than it has to be." Dream said.

"Will you guys just shut up?" Darryl asked.

"Okay! Jeez.." Dream turned, sliding his hand across the ground.

"Oh-" His finger knocked a rock and it tumbled down a short hill.

"Shit." Dream muttered under his breath.

Close footsteps got loud quickly, a short roar heard.

"Go, go." Techno pulled Dream in front of him, getting everyone to their feet and running.

Flare jumped into scene and chased after
them.

"Fuck you, Dream." Techno said.

"Guys, now is not the time to be arguing!" Darryl sounded pissed.

Flare's distant roar muted them, getting closer.

The creature took a turn, seeing what seems to be a broken down village.
