Part 90: Hope

(Ayo, how long have I been dead?)

"Shh. Come on." Techno said. He signaled them to follow him.

Flare trilled, moving things around.

"I can't leave Toro..!" Darryl said.

"You're gonna have to." Techno furrowed his brows.

He took Dream and they started running off.

"Getting away from Flare is top priority. We can't worry for anything, or anyone else, because that will slow us down." Techno said, in a quiet voice.

"And if Flare is gone, that gives us the chance to find the portal and get out of here." Techno said.

They took a few turns, crouching down to the ground.

"Wait, where's Darryl?" Dream asked.

They looked behind them, to see Darryl slowly walking up.

"Sh, sh, buddy. It's okay." Darryl quietly said.

"Ahem."

"AH!" Darryl jumped, pushing the horse behind a boulder. "Oh, hey!"

Dream and Techno were standing there before him.

Toro huffed, clacking his hooves on the ground.

"Darryl, is that Toro behind the boulder?" Dream asked.

"No! No, uh, maybe that's Flare making those noises." Darryl hid his hands behind his back.

Toro galloped out from behind the boulder and tapped Darryl from behind.

Darryl sighed. "Okay, fine. I'm secretly trying to take Toro with us."

"Why would you take your horse with us?" Techno asked.

"Wouldn't you take Carl with you!?" Darryl snapped, growling at him.

Techno stared at him with shocked eyes.

Darryl sighed harshly. "I, am taking Toro, whether you like it, or not." He grabbed Toro's harness and tugged him along.

"Darryl- he's just going to lure Flare closer to us..!" Techno harshly whispered.

"I'm not abandoning this horse. He's my ride." Darryl said.

"A ride that could fly? Yeah, those wings are totally able to lift him into the air." Techno sarcastically said.

"Speaking of wings, I'm gonna have to ask you a very, important thing." Darryl said.

"And what-"

"And that is after we escape." Darryl cut him off.

Techno sighed. "Bruuuhhh."

Dream pulled the two back behind a broken building part. "Sh!"

Darryl stepped out and quickly pulled Toro behind as well.
