"Here we are again"

Getting Messy

    "I'm so sorry Tendou, this keeps happening."

"It's totally fine. You look like you're having fun so don't worry about it!" He smiled at me. I laughed and continued to dance while he walked away.

It was about thirty minutes later and everything was going amazing. I walked over to a table to sit down for a while and drink something. While I was sitting down I seen Tendou at the table beside he standing. He looked like he was just checking his phone until a random guy came up beside him.

"Hello? Did you need something?" Tendou asked him.

"Shut up. You even invited you." The guy said back.

"No need to be rude, a friend invited me so lay off."

"Are you getting an attitude with me? I'll fuck you up." The guy said, he was clearly under something.

"Look man, I don't know what you're on about but i'm just standing here."

"Oh fuck off-" the man pushed Tendou down and shoved food off the table onto him making a huge mess, but sense the music was so loud, not many people noticed.

    I wasn't one to ever get into things like this but my body moved before I could think. I ran over to him and pushed the guy over a little.

    "WHAT THE FUCK?" I yelled at him, and reached my arm out to Tendou. I could tell his whole mood changed. He grabbed my hand and I helped him up. Before he could say anything though, I pulled him to the nearest bathroom. Once I got there I scavenged through the cabinets to find something to clean him up with.

"I- Y/n?? It's okay you know."

    I had finally found a towel and stood back up to face him. "No. No it's not. People keep treating you bad and I know we aren't that close but I hate watching it keep happening." I handed him the towel, and started to look around for any more clothes he could change into.

"Wait here I'm gonna go somewhere really quick... just stay in here and try to clean up as much as you can and i'll be back in like... five minutes."

    Before he could talk again I closed the door and headed out of the house. I started making my way to the nearest store which wasn't far.

"What the hell am I doing. I don't even know the guy well and here I am helping him."

    I keep muttering to myself and got to the store pretty fast and made my way to the men's clothing area.

    "What size is he..." I kept going back and fourth between sizes and just went with my gut feeling. I got a regular hoodie and paid for it then left. I ran back to the house as fast as I could and walked back in.

    "He better still be in the bathroom." I thought to myself. I shuffled through the crowd of people to get to the bathroom. I finally reached the door and opened it again, and Tendou was sitting on the floor with his back against the wall and his head down.

"Tendou?... I got you something to change into, and i'm so sorry if it's not your size."

    He looked up with a puzzled expression on his face.

    "Thank you..." He took the hoodie from my hand and examined it. "You got my size correct." He smiled a bit, then looked back up. 

    "I'll step out for a second so you can change." and I shut the door again. After a few seconds he opened the door again. I walked back in and he looked at me confused again. I sat on the counter and told him to come here.

"You missed a little." I said as I picked up the towel and started to wipe the rest of his face.

    For a second I could've sworn time slowed down. We were making long eye contact and it was silent except for the faint music playing from outside the door. His arms leaning on the counter on either side of me. I lowered my arm and everything went back to normal.

"I-" I began to speak.

"Why are you being nice to me. Did someone put you up to this? Or-"

"No- no no, it's not like that. I promise. I've just seen how you've been treated and It confuses me. You seem like a good person and it makes no sense that people are treating you so horribly. I just don't understand and I-"

"If you rant anymore i'm gonna assume you like me." He said in a playful tone.

"Uh- I- No!!" I said back to his tease.

    He laughed, "I'm just kiddingggg!! It just surprised me, that's all."

"Well i'm gonna leave... I'll see you on Monday next week-"

"I'll walk you home."

"Tendou it's fine, you don't have to leave because I am?"

"Nah, It's kinda boring now, and besides I don't really have anyone else to talk to. My friends went home, and you helped me so why not."

"I guess, but it's okay, it's just what friends are supposed to do." I stopped for a second and realized what I said.

"Oooh, we're friends now? I'll take that." He said again in that playful manner.

"Oh shut up, and cmon." I rolled my eyes and held back a laugh.

    We both left and started to walk down the block together.

"Do you live close by?" He asked.

"Yeah, just a few blocks away, what about you?"

"Same... Soooo let's skip the boring stuff, what do you like to do?"

"I paint sometimes... and mainly just listen to music. I'm pretty boring. How about you? You're on the volleyball team right?"

"Yeah.. I play middle blocker. Nothing that special."

"Don't say that, I'm sure each player is as equally important. I haven't seen the team play but i'm sure they need you."

"..hm, anyways you said you like to paint right? Do you have any pictures of what you've done?"

"Not at the moment.."

    It went silent for a minute. My mind went back to the application to be the manager. He looked over and seen something puzzled me.

"Is something wrong?"

"Huh-? Oh- no things are fine, i'm just thinking. You know I actually applied to be the manager of your team yesterday. I just hope I make it."

"Wait- really??? I'm gonna get to see my new best friend all the time now." He said with a laugh and big smile.

    I don't know what it was about him, but I had a feeling we were gonna get along.
