Chapter twenty four: Bestest day

S-she loves me!

She fucking loves me!

Here I was thinking that she didn't even like me a little bit.

That's why she's been getting jealous lately, being possessive and all touchy and smiley.

"I-if you don't love me back, that's not a problem. We'll just have to terminate the con-"

-I break her off with a kiss. She kisses back and climbs on me immediately, grinding her pelvis on mine, I groan and break the kiss, putting her back on the chair.

"There's something we still have to do"

"What is it?"

"Sapphire .I. Jennings, I've loved you since you stormed into my hotel room on the first day we met, scratch that, since middle school" I say and she freezes.

"Th-that long?"

"Yes. That long"

"Wow. I never even suspected, if anything, I totally thought you liked Rose. If not that I was selfish, I wanted to terminate the contract so you be with her" she says and I scoff.

"I do care for her, a bit more than i should, but it's you that I've loved from the start" I say and she smiles, getting up.

"I'll be right back" She says and runs to her bedroom. She comes back, a file in hand and I immediately know what it is"

"Soo" she hands it over to me. "Do the honours please" I grin at her, remove the piece of paper from the file and tear it, to pieces.

"Keep your copy. It's kinda like a reminder of what brought us together." She sits next to me.

"So, Sapph, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Thought you'd never ask" She says and gives me a soft kiss. "Yes"

"It's official. Finally! Yes!" I stand in excitement and she laughs at me. We both burst into laughter, which is cut short as the door opens.

It's Liv..and Drake?

"See, you guys are having fun." Liv says and walks to her room. Drake on the other hand is frozen to the spot, looking at Sapph then me, Sapph then me.

"Dude, B-Brian said-"

"-Oh? No, no, there's nothing going on between us, he came to visit, we're just good friends" Sapph says, calmly and if I wasn't the one she was talking about, I would have totally bought that, there was no sign on her face that she was lying.

"Oh, Okay. Sorry man"

"It's fine" He nods and walks down the hallway, probably to Liv's room

"Soo, Drake and Liv huh?"

"Acctually, I don't even know. Liv likes him a lot, but Drake is being pretty stubborn, I mean he clearly likes her, he just doesn't want any distractions for now and he's majoring in Physical science, it's practical. I think there's a deeper reason why" she muses and I smile.

"They'll sort out their stuff" my phone beeps and I check it.

Where are you?

"Fuck. I have practice at 5, and I'm late. Fuck fuck"

"Go on, go go. Wait, can I watch you practice? Liv is going to start screaming any second now. She and Drake can be pretty loud" I chuckle, she doesn't know how loud she usually is.

"Of course, guys come to watch all the time. But warning, you and Cindy will be the only girls"

"Urgh, Cindy"

"When I'm done with practice, you tell me what the fuck is going on between you and Cindy"

"I'd rather not talk about her"

"Sapph. She's my best friend and I don't want a situation where I will have to choose between love or friendship, I hate that sort of ultimatum and Cindy's capable of doing that" I say, dead serious and she nods.

"Fine. Wait. Sorry" she quickly runs again and after roughly 5 minutes, she comes back in a tank top and cowgirl jeans, then an ointment. She rubs it lightly on my swollen face, I wince a bit, groaning when her hand leaves my face.

"It's not that bad. You still look handsome as ever and thankfully, you have just one black eye" she jokes and I smile.

"Let's go coffee girl"

"Hey! No one calls me that!"

"Ryan does" I laugh at her mouth hanging open and close it for her.

"Coach's gonna give me an earful" we get on my bike and I drive off.

...

"Cali!!!!" Coach yells and all the boys burst into laughter. I wince and run over to him, hearing Sapphire's laugh behind me.

"What's your time?" He asks and I don't bother checking.

"You're 24 minutes late!"

"Er, coach, you see, I-"

"-He was with me!" Sapphire yells all of a sudden, coming closer and all the boys stays hooling. I roll my eyes.

"So sorry sir, we went to see my parents" she says and they hool again. What the- "And-"

"-Okay, that's enough. Bye bye" I push her away and she laughs. Even coach laughs.

"Get on the court boy!" He yells and I freeze.

"Court?" We freshmen were always on the bench.

"Yes. You have great potential, so you and Fox are playing tommorow" He says, smiling and they all start clapping. I grin and turn to Sapphire. She blows me a kiss, Cindy gives me a thumbs up. I bounce to the court and stand beside Ryan.

"Dude, what happened to your face?" Ryan asks, and people look at me.

"Got into a fight, nothing huge, come on, I'm excited" i shrug and they seem to accept that, except Ryan course, who I promise to tell after practice

Coach blows the whistle and we start, I make a basket like 2 times and Sapphire and Cindy cheer me on. I notice that their seating together.

I smile, they must have reconciled. This is one of the best days of my life.
