"Please tell me I'm not as forgettable as your silence is making me feel"

~Vincent~

She was the one.

The fucking one.

I knew it, the moment she stepped into the room, the moment I heard her southern accent slip, she tends to do that a lot. At least, about 6 years ago.

She looks so gorgeous, more beautiful than she was back then, but then again, I expected it.

Her eyes roam around and land on me, I try to read her, read the emotion, I've never been good at it, she was always so quiet, so...hidden.

They linger on mine and I silently pray that she recognises me. She looks away and hugs Dylan, I feel emotions swirling in my chest...jealousy, pain and worst of all...anger.

I shouldn't be angry, It's not her fault she doesn't remember me, yet why do I feel like she's supposed to? Like she's entitled to?

Cindy stares at me, the question in her eyes, yet it seems like a statement, like she's telling me something. I've never been good at reading people's emotions or eyes, but I can tell that she knows something.

She looks away and the girls leave, taking Sapphire with them and I frown. Brian turns to us, his eyes slightly red.

"No messing with my sister. I mean it and you know it. No one and I mean no one fucks with her. Okay?" He warns, his voice laced with a promise, a silent promise to hurt anyone who hurts her.

He loves her, a lot. I can see that. I feel Ryan staring at me and I hate it. I hate that he always knows, I hate that Cindy always knows, I hate that Sophia always knows, I hate that Dad always knows.

Why do I always have to be so decipherable!

"You guys have a show tonight right?" I ask to break the unnerving silence.

"Yep! And we need to practice, chop chop!! Let's go guys! Sassy!" Dylan yells

"What is it Dyldo?!" Sapphire yells back

"I told you stop calling me that!" He grumbles, pouting. She laughs, coming out of Missy and Dylan's mini studio, fuck, even her laugh is gorgeous.

She jumps on his back and he staggers a bit, quickly holding the armrest, I take the last spoon of my icecream, throwing the empty cup on the couch. Ryan glares at me, picking the cup and tossing into the bin. It goes straight in and he smirks, winking at me before going to meet Cindy. Cocky idiot.

"Guys, what do you say we go home and watch movies?" Jake asks and they all agree, normally I would have been tempted to go and play video games, I'm on my last mission in Call of Duty.

But, no.

"I want to stay" I say, going closer to the stage and he nods. I want to watch Sapphire play.

"You want to watch her play don't you?" A voice asks from behind me and I jump a bit, turning around to face Ryan.

"Noooo...Yesss" I look away,a riding his eyes and he laughs.

"Vincent, I know you more than anyone does. She's the girl isn't she? As your ever faithful bestfriend, I am here to announce to you, that you my friend, are in love" He says, with a serious expression.

"What are y-"

"-Ryaaan! Let's go!" Cindy yells

"Goodluck" He pats my shoulder and runs to her, immediately lifting her up and she squeals. Talk about love.
