So guys! This book will soon come to an end. To be honest, thus is just like a filler chapter. I just felt it won't be nice to end the book I'm chapter 39, when I'm just so close to forty, sooo.. it's gonna be pretty short.

~Vincent~

Brian called me.

I was shocked. He said he wants is to discuss some things. I'm scared, I won't lie, but I'm also curious as to what he has to say.

So this is me, on my motorcycle, riding to Starbucks. Anxious as hell.

I see him once I enter. He's on a table at the corner, a steaming white mug in his front.

"Hey" I say as I sit down opposite him. He looks at me and then looks at the table.

"I'll get straight to the point. I'm sorry for hitting you and for saying the things I said" I freeze. I was expecting anything but and apology.

"Wow. Uh, it-it's fine, I guess. It's cool. You had every right to get angry, just not to throw a punch" I let out a soft laugh. He smiles, a small one.

"Hmm. I like you actually. Was just really disappointed that it was you who went against my rules. But one thing, if you hurt her-"

"-You'll break every bone in my body? Or worse, kill me?" He laughs

"You got that right"

"So, I have an online class in about-" he checks his watch "-an hour time. I have to leave. It was nice meeting you. Bye"

"Yeah. Bye"

He finishes his coffee, stands up and leaves. I sit back for a while and and order a cup of white mocha.

I just sit and think about the woman I met in the hospital. I didn't even tell my dad. Should I? No, he doesn't need to know.

I decide to go home and visit dad and Sophia.

When I get there, I use my keys to enter the house and to my surprise I meet dad and the lady discussing. Dad looks..sad?

"I'm really sorry Lorenzo. Really sorry."

"It's fine. I've forgiven you a long time ago. You know I'm not one to keep grudges. The children won't though"

"That's right" I interrupt and they both turn to look at me. They didn't even know when I entered.

"Vince" she stands. I raise a hand to stop her from coming to me.

"Dad, why did you let her in?" He sighs

"Son, we can't not forgive her. She gave me her reasons and though she was wrong, that doesn't change the fact that she's your mother." My eyes cloud with tears

"No. This woman is not my mother, not!"

"M-me too" Sophia comes out of the kitchen, she'd been listening too.

"Sophia, what did I say about eavesdropping? I told you to go your room"

"I wish it was you and Miss Sarah, not her" she spits out the her with so much spite. The lady visibly flinched.

"Sophie-"

"-It's Sophia"  she snaps back and I smile. The lady stares at dad.

"I don't understand, did you poison her mind about me?" She suddenly sounds angry.

"No, he didn't. I don't need to know the full story. All I know is that you left me, when i was still a baby, when I needed you the most. And now, you're dead to me"

"Sophia, i-i'm sorry. You have every right to be angry. I just came to make peace."

"Elena, if you didn't have to move back here would you have bothered trying to make peace?" Dad questions and she goes silent, eyes trained to the ground. "I thought so too. Please leave. You're happy with your new family. We're happy too. Just please go" she sighs and looks at me tears in her eyes. For a second, my resolve falters, but my walls climb back up immediately.

She walks to door.

"I love you guys a lot. I never stopped doing so. Even you Lorenzo...Goodbye" With that she walks out, closing the door, softly.

Sophia sits on the floor and starts crying, hysterically. Dad sits in the couch too, his hands cradling his head and I see a tear drop.

I look at the closed door. For some reason, a part of me wanted to tell her to come back, beg her to fight for us. The part that was still her son. But I lock that part deep inside me.

I hate her and nothing's gonna change that. At least, I'm justified, right? The first tear drops.
