Chapter thirty eight: Friends?

I was in basketball practice and not to brag, I was killing it. The girls at the bleachers cheer when i make another basket. I was the star of practice today.

The guys on my team, hug and howl. I smile.

"That's it! That's it Cali!" I smirk as someone passes the ball to me, I dribble and notice the person to mark me. I'm around him before he can even blink.

I pass the ball to someone else, Ron, he runs, I run, we pass it and then it ends in my hands again, I score with a slam dunk and the game comes to an end with a 19-5

"Woah man, you were on fire today. I knew you were good, buh I didn't know you were gooood." Frank pats my back, I smirk at him. I walk into the locker room, a smug look on my face.

After a short talk with coach, we all have our baths and leave. My phone rings. Cindy

"Shortcake?"

"Heyy. Been a long time since we hung out, wanna hang?"

"Yeah, no problem, just got out of practice. Where we going?"

"I was thinking of trying out the new restaurant down the estate" I laugh

"You and food"

"Could say the same for you" we both laugh and then there's silence. It's been a while since we laughed together. I missed Cindy. I can bet she's thinking the same thing.

"Uh, where are you now?"

"Just finished class. Can you wait maybe near the art building, I think I'm close to that place" I look up

"That's even where I am"

"Great. Give me two minutes" I smile

"Okay. Bye"

"Bye"

I turn around and see Sapph coming out a building, she looks deep on thought until she sees me. I smile and she grins. She increases her pace and walks into my arms. I place a kiss on her hair. Hmm, coffee and..paint

"How was your day?"

"It was cool."

"You smell like paint" I say, playfully scrunching my nose. She slaps one of my biceps.

"Take it like that. Wanna go get coffee"

"Of cou-"

"-Vince" I see Cindy walking my wait, confusion spread on her features. Shit

"What's she doing here?" Sapph says, softly into my shirt.

"Uh, I want us three to go out together"

"What?!" They both exclaim at the same time and I smile. Time to bring an end to this stupid beef.

"..and then Mr Gourmet said that we should take her seat. She was so mortified. She just blushed and sat back down. Amanda smirked at her and was like "cat got your tongue princess?" The whole class burst into laughter" the whole table is still silent, I sigh, but then Sapphire laughs. Yess! One down, one to go.

"That's...that's actually funny"

"Yeah. Served her right. I hate proud people. She thinks she's all that" I roll my eyes.

"Are we gonna order or what? I'm hungry and I can't wait to leave" Cindy suddenly grumbles, eyes trained to her phone, I just sigh and call a waiter. He takes our orders and leaves.

I stare at the both of them. Seated right next to each other, you can practically see the smoke coming out of their ears, they're probably very angry at me. I grimace, thinking of the scoldings to come.
