It had been a month since Neil's funeral, and everyone noticed things were definitely not the same as they once were.

Everyone knew that.

Everyone could see the change, especially in Aaradhya.

They all missed her laughter and her bubbly nature the moment she walked through the hospital doors with silence etched in her every manoeuvre as she mumbled a 'good day' to everyone and got to work. Aaradhya was no longer the same; the spark in her eyes seemed lost.

It struck 10 pm in the night as most of Aarogya Care was deserted, and Aaradhya strolled around in the dark for rotations, ensuring all her patients were alright. Once she felt relieved with her checks, she made her way to her cabin, stifling a yawn.

All of a sudden, she crashed into a wall. . .except this wall seemed to steady her. . .with hands on her waist?

As she rubbed her eyes to get a better view, she found herself in a somewhat compromised position with the owner of a familiar pair of obsidian orbs.

"Mr Malhotra?" What are you doing here so late?" She whispered.

"I could ask you the same Aaradhya. . .besides we've met each other far too many times to call each other by the surname, don't you think?" She shrugged in response, and through some unspoken agreement, they began walking together to the pantry.

"Could I get you some coffee or tea?" She asked, looking through the drawers for sugar and pans.

"Some coffee please," He smiled. . .

I thought you liked tea? His heart pondered.

Her coffee was delicious the other day, and I don't want to take chances with tea. . . His mind replied.

He tuned his thoughts out and tried to concentrate on her when he found her looking at him expectantly. Shit! I missed out on what she said.

Sensing he was busy with his thoughts, she repeated herself, "Um, how do you like your coffee?"

"Just like the one on the trip," he blurted before realising his words.

Aaradhya's eyebrows furrowed for a second in surprise before shifting her focus to the coffee. Oh, so he's more of a coffee person than a tea person, unlike me. She wondered as she stirred the milk, letting it get frothy.

"If you don't mind me asking, what brought you to the hospital at 1 am?" She broke the ice, looking up at him.
