How a week had passed by, Nidhi had no clue. But she knew for sure something had changed for sure. She felt giddy with madness. Her heart skipped a beat every time she thought of that night. Why though? She couldn't understand.

Walking up to the wardrobe mirror, she observed the girl in front of her. She had this glow on her face that brought out the spark in her eyes. She thought she always had a sparkle of joy in her eyes, but this was different.

Was it a good 'different'? Perhaps.

Nidhi critiqued herself carefully; she wasn't ugly; in fact, she had always felt she could be considered pretty, realistically speaking, of course, with zero narcissism. But today, she felt beautiful and wanted to continue feeling that way.

Ishhhh! What's wrong with you, Nidhi? She dug her face into her pillow in embarrassment.

Shaurya Goenka.

She mouthed, enunciating every syllable of his name.

"What are you doing to me, Shaurya? This is all because of that one night. Ahhhh!"

The night sky was filled with darkness as the aureate stars twinkled in full radiance. The conversations of the party had dwindled down only to be replaced by the soft howls of the midnight breeze. The guests were leaving. . .well, at least they said they would about a half-hour ago, but the conversations failed to cease with laughter and glee.

After tucking Samaira into bed, Nidhi stepped down into the garden to bid adieu to the guests. But just as she was about to do that, she felt a tug on her arm.

A rather strong hand pulled her into the deserted part of the backyard, just under the banyan tree.

She gasped in surprise as she found him staring at her earnestly with a pinch of mischief in his eyes.

"Sh-Shaurya? Wh-What in the w-world are y-you doing?" She breathed heavily, trying to rest her beating heart.

He chuckled upon seeing her, "Oh wow! The Nidhi Roy, my Bengali sherni, is stuttering? Well done, Shaurya," he patted his shoulder, causing Nidhi to rile up further.

What is wrong with him?

Letting out a huff, she placed her hands on her waist and spoke sternly, "Shaurya, listen, I need to go say goodbye to everyone. Bata, what do you want?"

He shook his head, the look of amusement never leaving his face, "Listen, your pura khandan is already saying bye. No one is going to die if you don't go." She shook her head in dismissal, which made him chuckle.
