"Look at our Khadoos couple! As soon as we all went to bed, they started their flames,"
Nidhi cooed.
Neil opened and closed his mouth a couple of times in an attempt to speak but wasn't sure if it'd be appropriate. Shaurya noticed his hesitance and smiled, "Neil, Just say whatever you want. It's okay. No one's going to bite you."
"Well, I was just going to say that our Aaru di is like chup chap Charlie, she didn't give us any coffee, but bhaiya ji ke liye. . ."
"Ekdum sahi baat, Neil!" Nisha spoke in a slightly louder tone, causing Aaradhya to snuggle closer to Armaan, her head resting against his shoulder.
(Absolutely right, Neil!)
"Awww!" everyone gushed in unison.
Clearly disturbed by this boisterous tone, Aaradhya and Armaan jolted from their sleep only to realise the compromised position they were in. Not even a second passed by, and the two were five feet apart as if nothing happened, but the rouge in Aaradhya's cheeks and Armaan's ear tips spoke unspoken words.
"Ohho, look at these two, acting as if they did nothing yesterday. So innocent, you two are!" Kayra drawled sarcastically.
"Choti, Don't talk too much," Armaan grumbled, walking off with his phone under his nose. Typical Mr Malhotra behaviour.
Kayra mocked his tone, and everyone told her to hush; Albeit Armaan seemed grumpy most of the time, having this version of him was not fun at all, especially in the car.
Really, time flies when you're having fun. Before they knew it, they were on their way back to the same old routine, back to the same old traffic and back to the same old job. Basically, back to Mumbai. How time flew, no one knew.
A week went by swiftly as Aaradhya and Nidhi rushed through rotations, team meetings and more rotations. And perhaps, their professional lives called for it; after all, it's a great day to save lives!
But not one day would go by where Nidhi wouldn't tease Aaradhya, much like the first day back.
Aaradhya popped her head into Nidhi's cabin after a knock or two, hoping that she wasn't disturbing her friend.
"Arrey, Aaru, you can always come in; no need to knock," Nidhi beamed as Aaru stepped in, smiling sheepishly.
"I got you your favourite cheese chilli toast and some coffee,' Aaradhya set them down in front of her as she took a seat.
"Oh wow, Coffee for a peasant like me?" Nidhi chortled, "Ab toh aapke haath ki bani humein kahan naseeb. Sirf Armaan mein reh sakta hai," she winked, causing Aaru's mouth to form an 'O'.
