"Abbey yaar, where's Aaru? She said she'll come now. . .Uski khair nahi! How come she's this late and that too on the one day she shouldn't be?" Nidhi folded her arms and pursed her lips as she waited in front of their usual cafe, Koko's Koffee Spot.
Her feet tapped impatiently as she let out a visibly loud huff. But then she heard footsteps, and believing that they were Aaradhya's, she got ready to let out some colourful words and give her a piece of her mind.
"Saali Kutti! How can you be so—" She burst out as her eyes grew wide open and her palms immediately slapped her mouth.
God, why did this have to happen with me only?!
And there she was, her breath hitched as she watched him smugly smile at her, his minty freshness and light whiff of lemony citruses engulfing her senses.
"Sh-Shaurya, How come you're here?" She mumbled, wishing to smack her head at that moment for being so awkward and idiotic.
"My dear Bengali sherni, Aaru madam, was a little busy, so I'm here. . ." He gestured to himself before continuing in a rather high pitched shrill tone, "Chalo shopping karenge! Yippee! Aaj main na naye heels kharidungi" He shook his torso side by side and pouted his lips.
Nidhi couldn't help but let out a loud laugh and a snort earning glares from those passing by. Soon Shaurya joined along. At least someone's making an effort to make me laugh today. . .besides Shaurya is quite cute . . .Also, wait since when did I become his Bengali sherni??
Hawww, Nidhi, you're admitting someone is cute? What has happened to this world? Her mind retorted as she shooed away the cumbersome thoughts.
"Arrey, oh, Nidhi, Where are you lost? Do you not want to go or what?" Shaurya clicked his fingers in front of her face.
"Tumi na ekdom-ugh- haba goba! Chalo!" She strode off, nudging his shoulder on purpose.
"Haba-what? Arrey, I called you my Bengali tigress, not for you to use it as an excuse to throw your dharadhar Bengali at me," Shaurya pouted, hoping for Nidhi to stop, but when does she ever meet anyone's expectations?
"Acha acha, wait for me!" He ran to catch up with her as they got into his car, and he started driving towards Infiniti Mall.
As predicted, Mumbai's infamous traffic held them like shackles as they waited for the blaring crimson light to change and give them the green signal. . . Quite literally.
Nidhi cleared her throat and spoke over the soft melody playing on the radio, "Um, Shaurya, have you spoken to Aaru today? Did she say what she's busy with or something?"
