Maggie And Glenn Think About There Future (season 6 time-jump, canon)

"What about Beth, if it's a girl?" Glenn suggested, his hand softly placed on his wife's stomach. His ear settled on the practically invisible bump, listening for any signs of life.

"I like Beth. Short for Bethany." Maggie smiled, her fingers running through Glenn's hair fondly. The memory of her sister was no longer a painful one, especially in terms of naming their future child. "I was thinking Hershel for a boy, but I don't know if it's too old fashioned."

Glenn shook his head, his fingers linking with Maggie's. "I like Hershel. I was thinking the same thing." He insisted, pressing a light kiss on her cheek. He had never been so excited in his life, the possibility of starting a family with the woman he loved almost always present in his mind. He just couldn't believe it was finally happening.

He met his wife's eyes with a loving gaze, her slight frown causing him to become concerned. "I know you're worried. I am, too. But this kid is gonna have a lot to look forward to, and so many people to protect them. I think this is the first time in my life that I've actually felt sure of something, one hundred percent." He reassured her, his thumb rubbing against the back of her hand gently.

"There's just so much to do, and I don't know how we can do it." Maggie admitted as she chewed her lip. She wouldn't be able to say it, but her mind was full of thoughts surrounding Lori. The tragedy that happened the day Judith was born, the hole it left in the hearts of the group. She didn't want it to happen all over again with her child. "I think we should ask Belle to be the godmother. I know it's not much in this world, but she's already doing so much for this baby. I want her to know she's a part of the family, no matter what."

Glenn nodded in agreement, a wide grin on his lips. "She knows we love her, but I'll ask her tomorrow at the check up. Maybe it'll put her mind at ease." It didn't take a genius to figure out she was in a fluster over the entire situation. She was a great doctor, brilliant at helping the group when she could, but this was something she had never done before. It didn't mean the couple trusted her any less, they just knew the pressure she felt on her shoulders.

Maggie shuffled down on the bed, her head resting on the pillow as she yawned. "Can you shut the curtains?" She asked Glenn, the man already on his feet.

As his fingers wrapped around the fabric, he spotted movement outside, his eyes squinting through the glass.

Belle hurried along the side of the house, her footsteps careful as she got nearer to the Grimes household. He just managed to catch the top window shutting, Carl himself closing the curtains of his own room. Glenn waited until the girl reached the front door, silently turning the handle and shutting it behind her with one last glance.

Glenn breathed out a chuckle, turning to Maggie as she waited. "I think...I just saw Belle sneaking into Carl's house." He told her, still wrapping his mind around it. He couldn't say he was surprised, more just baffled in the secretive moment.

Should he smile or frown? On the one hand, he was happy that they had found each other in a terrible world like this. When he found Maggie, it provided a light in his life and reason to keep going. He hoped they could be that for each other. On the other hand, they were just kids and probably didn't understand what they were getting in to. He would've done anything to keep them safe, to keep them alive.

He had known the kids for so long, watched them grow up and become practically adults. He brushed off the almost protective feeling in his heart, trying not to think about what they were up to. That was none of his business, but he was allowed to be worried. They were family, he only wanted to look out for them.
