What If...Belle Went With Ezekiel, Yumiko And Eugene? (10x15, not canon)

Bicycle Race

"Yo!" This new woman, who apparently didn't know the meaning of volume control, greeted us with an excited grin. "'Sup?"

I shared a suspicious glance with Yumiko as she itched towards her quiver, ready to draw an arrow at any sudden movement. "Who are you? What do you want?" She asked, her voice bouncing off the high rise buildings surrounding us.

The woman didn't drop her casual demeanour, although her eyebrows did raise with confusion. "You guys were the ones calling out and making a racket. I thought you needed help." She defended, wildly gesturing with her hands. I couldn't decide whether her friendliness was a threat or if she genuinely didn't care. "Damn. I haven't seen anyone in over a year, and the first ones I find seem like a bunch of meanies."

At her words I sighed, my head nodding with realisation. It's not that she didn't care, it's just that she didn't understand how to interact with people after spending so much time without them.

"Are you gonna hurt me?" Even the seriousness of her question didn't drop the smile from her face, but my eyes weren't on that. They were on the gun in her grip, the barrel almost twice the size of her.

"You wanna find out?" I spat, rolling the handle of my blade in my palm. There was an almost amused gleam in her eye at my subtle threat, like she was somehow entertained by the idea.

Ezekiel's hand was on my shoulder next, urging down my fighting stance. "No one has any intention of hurting you." He promised, giving me a scolding glare as I shrugged.

"Speak for yourself." I muttered, only loosening my grip when he shook his head sternly. We didn't have time to make stops like this, we were heading somewhere way more important than this. Besides, we didn't know this girl and I didn't care to find out. For all I knew, she could've been a Whisperer, albeit a loud and colourful one, and I couldn't make that mistake again.

The woman didn't buckle under my harsh, inspecting glare, her face dropping slightly as she pointed to us. "Hold on...you guys are real, right?" She wondered, her features creasing with worry. "I mean, I never hallucinated before, but there's a first time for everything."

I swallowed the insults and threats I wanted to throw at her, suppressing it into an eye roll big enough to strain my vision. She was starting to get on my nerves, from the insanely positive attitude to the painful pops of pink.

"Maybe I am hallucinating. This is...wild." She was mostly talking to herself now, her mind wandering in an effort to understand what was going on inside her head. God, I would've liked to know, too.

"You certain it's just you out here?" Yumiko cut off her rambling with a stern question.

The pink lady gave her an incredulous look. "Didn't I already tell you that? I've been on my own for over a year, and it totally sucks." She complained, my lips pressing together in a reluctant frown. I couldn't help the twinge of sympathy I felt towards her- I had been on my own once, I knew it could do terrible things to a person. But for an entire year, I don't think I would've survived.

Still, I found her personality in particular getting under my skin, her voice becoming constant background noise as she mumbled quietly. Eventually she clapped a hand over her mouth in an effort to stop it, a grin forcing its way beneath her fingers.

"I'm Juanita Sanchez, but I never liked the name Juanita. You can call me Princess." She finally introduced herself, gesturing for us to do the same. I had to admit, the name was definitely fitting.
