A/N: Guys, I swear I have one-shots other than MariCat. I just have a collection of one-shots on google docs so I want to upload them in the order I have them so that I don't forget one lol.
Anyway, this story takes place post-reveal. Hope you enjoy!
"This is your fault," Marinette Dupain-Cheng accused. The offender, Cat Noir, threw his hands up in the air as if in surrender, but his expression suggested anything but. He wore an amused smirk and his eyes held a mischievous glint.
"So it is," he said.
"You knew this was going to happen, didn't you? You did that on purpose," Marinette further accused, indicating her flour-covered frame.
"Actually, I didn't. I just thought maybe I had got the hang of things," Cat Noir said. Marinette sighed, but stopped scolding him for the moment.
Alya Cesairé, Marinette's best friend, had decided that Cat Noir didn't get enough recognition in the Ladyblog and had invited him to do something for the community while she recorded and interviewed him. She had asked him if he could bake and frost cookies for the orphanage, and he had heartily agreed. But, to Alya's dismay and great alarm, Cat Noir didn't know the first thing about baking. She had quickly called Marinette and pleaded with her to teach Cat Noir to make cookies. Even though she really didn't feel like being on camera, Marinette agreed.
But there was one secret that she and Cat Noir shared that no one else knew. She knew his true identity was Adrien Agreste, and he knew she had an alternate ego known as Ladybug. If it weren't for that, and the fact that he was her boyfriend, Marinette probably would have declined. As nice as she was, she hated being in the spotlight, even when she had her superhero suit on.
When she had first arrived to help Cat Noir make cookies, the kitchen had been a mess. She had helped him clean up a bit before starting to teach him how to make cookies. What she had not realized was that not only did he not know how to bake, but he had never tried to bake before. So, when he added flour to the mixer, he set the speed to much faster than what it should have been, causing the flour to go everywhere.
Marinette heard laughter, which brought her back to the present. She looked over to see her best friend holding her phone in one hand while covering her mouth with the other. She was shaking with laughter. Marinette huffed and crossed her arms.
"This isn't funny, Alya!" she said.
"Yes it is," Alya said, still laughing. "I have to send a picture of this to Nino and Adrien. This is golden."
"No!" Marinette cried, her face reddening in embarrassment.
"I'm sure Adrien will love this picture even more than I do," Alya added.
"Alya!" Marinette cried, reddening even further. "I look ridiculous! Stop acting like I don't." Alya ignored Marinette's pleas. Marinette leapt at her friend, trying to grab her phone, but Alya held it out of reach. Then she grinned.
"I sent it," Alya said in a sing-song voice. Marinette groaned and face-palmed. It was worse enough that she had to stand in front of her boyfriend covered in flour, but now he had a picture to remember it by. And knowing him, he'd save it and never, ever delete it. She was sorely tempted to grab some flour and chuck it at Cat Noir to get a picture of him covered in flour. But throwing flour at him might lead to a food fight that would probably end up with them flirting with one another, and that could be disastrous. The way everyone else saw it, Marinette was dating Adrien and Cat Noir was dating Ladybug. So it would raise several eyebrows if Marinette and Cat Noir flirted with one another.
"I'm going to go clean up," Marinette said after a moment, escaping to the bathroom. She used water and paper towels to help clean the flour off of her skin.
