I was working late at the clinic, Dad left me so I organized things at the front desk, cleaned the whole clinic, and restoked everything. I was about to turn the lights off and lock up when I heard clinic door open and shut.

"Dad?" I called when he came back in the clinic carrying Scott.

"What happened?" I asked as he laid an unconscious Scott down on the examination table.

"Found him in the woods" Dad said. I watched as he pulled a bullet out of Scotts abdomen

"That's a wolfsbane bullet" I said. Dad started to clean the wound when Scott woke up.

"I wouldn't get up just yet" Dad told Scott

"Where am I?" Scott asked

"You're fine. And I've given you something that should speed up the healing process" Dad explained.

"But you're a vet" Scott said looking at Dad

"That's very true. And 90% of the time, I'm mostly treating cats and dogs." Dad said

"Mostly?" Scott asked

"Mostly" Dad confirmed as Scott faded in and out of consciousness.

"I'll stay and keep an eye on him, you should go home and get some rest" Dad said to me.

The next morning I stopped at the clinic to check on Scott since it's my day off.

"How's he doing?" I asked pulling up a chair to sit down

"He healed quickly" Dad said

Scott woke up again. He noticed me sitting on a chair against the wall

"Y/n?" He asked looking at me

"Welcome back to the land of concious. You doing ok?" Dad said turning towards Scott making his way to Scott catching before he collapsed on the floor.

"Maybe you should sit down huh?" Dad chuckled.

We heard the bell jingle indicating that someone came inside.

"Hello?" Dad called

Dad was about to leave Scott when, he grabbed Dad. Dad reassured him that it was ok.

"Hi, can I help you?" I asked seeing Peter

"Hi there. I'm here to pick up" Peter said

"I'm sorry but we're closed" I said crossing my arms across my chest

Dad stepped out to the front desk.

"I'm not sure I remember you dropping off?" Dad said

"This one wandered in on it's own" Peter said taking small slow steps towards the front desk.

"Oh you mean like a stray? We've got plenty" I said sarcastically

"Even if it did, I'm afraid I can't help you. We're closed" Dad said calmly

"I think you can make an exception this one time. Don't you?" Peter asked

"I'm sorry. That's not going to be possible. Maybe you could come back during regular hours." Dad said

"You have something of mine. I'm here to collect it." Peter said

"Like I said we're closed" Dad said taking a step foward. Peter reached for the door leading to the front desk but he couldn't get through

"Mountain Ash. That's an old one." He said looking at Dad and I he grabbed a chair and threw it.

"Let me be as clear as possible. We. Are. Closed." Dad said his voice stern
