6th Year, December 18th

Hermione was certain that Professor Dumbledore was mistaken.

The implications of Professor Snape telling her that the reasoning for Aurie and Draco's episode that night were because of both Aurie's Legitimacy, and their magical core.

Hermione wasn't wholly blind to the fact that the Malfoy siblings shared a unique connection, mostly it was their ability to seemingly 'telecommunicate' with each other. However, when she'd asked Draco if it was similar to that, Draco looked at her like she was speaking another language. Hermione then assumed that the whole concept of 'telecommunication' was not introduced to the Wizarding World.

But Professor Snape's assumption of the episode being a combined result of multiple factors had been right.

Professor Dumbledore was waiting outside his office when Snape and her had finally approached the Headmaster's Office. The elder wizard had simply nodded and followed Snape and her backwards through the castle and to the Senior Prefects Common Room.

When they had gotten their, Draco had made a pot of tea. It seemed to be a nervous habit of his that he'd picked up as the school year had progressed. Hermione first noticed it after the nightmares, and the night at Borgin and Burkes after she'd offered to make tea. Since then, he kept making tea at pretty much the slightest of inconveniences: like the other day when Auire and Her had been talking in her room.

While Draco had made tea, Aurie seemed complete frozen in the window seat, Hermione was guessing that Draco had put in her the spot she was in: leaning against the wall with her feet dangling over and looking absentmindedly out the window. Even as Hermione walked in with a professor and the headmaster in tow, she didn't move.

"Miss Granger, would you mind helping Miss Malfoy into an armchair in your sitting room. I'm afraid all of us will be a rather tight fit near the window" Dumbledore's words knocked Aurie out of her head, she stared at him blankly for a moment. Dumbledore then nodded at her while Hermione Grabbed Aurie by the shoulders and lead her over to her chair in the sitting room.

Greedily, Hermione sat down in Draco's chair, forcing him to stand between the two while Professor Snape and Dumbledore Conjured their own chairs into the room for themselves. Hermione heard Draco grumble audibility about how 'not fair they can get chairs', She tried to suppress a smile. When she had left, Draco had been in a similar psychosis state as Aurie was in now, it was oddly comforting to know he had been able to overcome that- either through his occlumency training or sheer will.

"Miss Granger, Professor Snape has told me you took it upon yourself to research into the Black Family Lineage this past term; and that it was in part why Mr Malfoy was able to have a discussion with his mother and learn the truth. Is this correct?"

Hermione shifted slightly uncomfortably in her seat. She knew that Dumbledore was aware of the situation, Draco had guessed and Aurie had confirmed it. But until this point, he had not inserted himself into the situation, and no one had really bough up her involvement either.

Yes, she had contributed to the reveal by Mrs Malfoy because Draco had grown too suspicious of the circumstance. But, she hadn't intent to cause any problems. Professor Dumbledore's question was hiding judgement behind inquisition, and she was beginning to wonder if she was going to face repercussions.

"Yes, Sir" Hermione nodded, whole gulping down the lump in her throat.

"Very well then, I'm quite impressed Miss Granger, it was not an easy code to crack. Tell me then, what is it that you found?"
