I glared from across the kitchen island at him.

"You need to learn to defend yourself against those boys without going AWOL...I might not be there next time to stop you." I chastised. He's head which was tucked under his chin as he glowered at the table rose slowly and his eyes met mine. The gold's shimmering under the intensity of the bright lighting in the kitchen.

"I was handling myself just fine." He snipped back. I scoffed and rose from my seat turning towards the microwave were I had put our dinner in.

Orion my cousin was the most hard headed and strong-willed person I've ever met. When something irked him he would do anything to get rid of it. He was sort of trained that way.

I blame dad for this.

However as much as his anger issues surpassed any fire wielder I've ever seen he always had patience. It was one of the few things I liked about him.
If it was any other soldier that was being picked on today, our school would have been burned to a crisp in seconds.
That was why our kind never strayed into this world. We knew the danger and chaos it would bring.

In my case I would say it was different though. I've lived on earth longer than my kind so I have learned to master keeping myself in control. No matter how annoying these mundane creatures could be.

Orion has never encountered bullying. My kind frowned upon it because we believe in equality which was why he almost lost it yesterday. It's a good thing I arrived on time.

The boy has had people breathing down his neck with responsibilities no one should be able to bear since he was a child.

Numerous training schedules, political and diverse education, physical,mental and emotional therapy. The list goes on.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Even if he had a destiny to fulfill.

Which is why we are here on earth, to find her.

According to the prophecy the salem witches foretold thousands of years ago, the chosen one has to find the siren, the maiden of laefae, queen of the seven seas, who resides were no water creature dreams to tread upon.

Earth...

She is the one who holds the key to bringing peace and tranquility between the water and fire clan once and for all.

Their evil queen has reigned long enough, punishing and decreasing our numbers by raining war upon us. We had to seek the help of the witches in other to survive. Going into hiding to protect our kind from being extinct. But it was about time we put her in her place. we just needed the two parts of the prophecy together to be able to over throw her for she is too strong and her armies can wipe us in a mili second if we dare to fight back against her on our own.

Orion wasn't even born when the prophecy was foretold thousands of years ago making it harder for him to understand the extent of the situation we were in.
Even though it was engrained into him when he was a kid till date I still know there is that sliver of doubt inside him that all of this is real.

Since when he turned 18 and felt the presense of the creature on earth, He was restless. Wanting to find her as soon as possible but to no avail.
He could feel her within reach but whenever he was close her presense would disappear as if not wanting to be found at all.

He was getting tired of searching and so was I.

I was sent ten years before him to look for her before he was done with his training to join me. And now that he is finally here I do hope we find her soon so this bitter war will come to an end.

Even though staying on earth has been fun it was time to find the true queen and go back to my home.

Wiping my mouth and pushing my chair out, I picked up his empty plate of lasagna and mine and dumped them in the sink to wash. I was about to turn on the tap when a voice cut through the deafening silence.

"How am I supposed to find her." He whispered to himself. If not for my supernatural hearing I wouldn't have picked up on it.

I sighed and leaned against the sink biting my lip and thinking hard for a reply.

"I don't know kid..." I finally spoke.

"I honestly have no idea." And I really didn't cause whoever this princess chick was, She absolutely didn't want to be found.

At all.......
