Charlis POV:
Charli: "what evidence do they have?? It's been years??"
What are the chances that this comes up today??
The only day I've ever talked to chase about this.
This is the only thing I'm keeping from him.
And I don't care how much he begs be to tell him, there is absolutely no way I'm telling him that my brother killed his parents. Out of everyone. Of course it had to be his parents.
Even though it was 4 years ago, I still feel guilty. First of all for not telling him and second of all because it was my brother who did it.
I know he will hate me for what my brother did. And I wouldn't blame him.
That's exactly why I'm not telling him.
Ted: "today, they were demolishing the plot. And while they were cleaning the area someone saw my lighter. They are scanning it for finger prints..."
Charli: "YOU LEFT YOUR LIGHTER THERE??"
Ted: "..."
Charli: "you are the worst murderer ever."
The reason I care is because if he gets caught He said he would tell the police that I was helping him cover it up.
And I don't have enough money to bail myself out of that one.
Charli: "please, figure it out."
I rolled my eyes and went back inside.
I saw chase on his phone.
Chase: "what did he want"
Charli: "nothing. He just needed to borrow something"

I closed the door behind me And walked inside.
Chases phone started ringing.
He picked up
Chase: "hello?"

Chase: "what do you mean? My parents weren't killed? It was an accident?"

Chase: "what???!"

Chase: "ok?! Il be right down..?"
He hung up

Chase: "they found a finger print for the person who killed my parents?!!?"
Shit- I should have known they would have called him
Charli: "you're parents were killed???"
Chase: "yeah?! so... this wasn't an accident.... someone could have been so heartless.... to kill my parents... to burn my house down..."
Charli: "I'm sorry that hap-"
Chase: "I will find the person. And I will kill them. And I won't hesitate to kill their entire family. They See how it feels!!"
Yep. He really is mad.
He's threatened to kill me without even knowing.
Charli: "chase, calm down. You sound like a socoiciopath."
Chase: "I don't care. They've ruined my life. Il ruin theirs"
Charli: "I'm sure that's not-"
Chase: "let's go"
He took my arm
Charli: "I'm coming??"
Chase: "yeah. Why wouldn't you?"
Charli: "seemed like kinda a personal thing"
Chase: "it's not."
He dragged me to the car.
Chase: "the nearest police station."
I nodded.
This is gonna be awkward.
I started driving.

We soon got there and I parked.
We got out of the car and went into the station.
A police came up to us.
Police: "hudson. Come here."
We walked over
Police: "wait. Who's this."
Chase: "my girlfriend?"
Police: "she can't come"
Good.
Chase: "she won't do anything. Please just let her in?"
Police: "okay... fine."

We walked to the back and there was the evidence.
The lighter.
Police: "this lighter was found outside the house. It's a 2019 spacial. It was only sold then. That year. So it could not have been that recent. Plus you can tell it's been through a bad fire"
Of course he had to buy that lighter.
Police: "it was in a hole beside your parents house. It's like someone was trying to hide it but did a terrible job. Luckily, still after 4 years it hadn't been touched. So we still have the finger prints"
He handed chase the plastic bag with the lighter.
Wait.
This is the perfect chance to destroy the evidence, I can touch it And the finger prints will smudge.
Charli: "can I see?"
He passed me the bag.
I quickly opened the bag
Chase: "charli no-"
I took the lighter out
Police: "DO NOT MOVE YOUR HANDS, YOU WILL SMUGE IT"
I moved my hands all around the evidence.
Police: "give me that!"
He took it and put it in the bag.
Police: "you are lucky we have extra copies of the finger print."
Crap.
Charli: "uh. I'm so sorry... about that... I thought we could touch them."
Police: "it's okay.... we don't need it anymore anyways..."
I looked on the desk and saw the fingerprint copy
Charli: "do you only have one other copy?"
The police nodded.
I came closer to the desk.
And "accidentally" tripped onto the desk.
Causing the last copy to fall on the ground.
Police: "NO"
Charli: "what?"
I stood up and "accidentally" stepped on the last copie.
Charli: "oops sorry."
Haha.
Police: "YOU LOST OUR ONLY LEAD. GET OUT"
I slowly nodded
And walked out with a smile.
Chase followed behind me
Chase: "what is wrong with you??"
Charli: "it was a mistake "
Chase: "you don't make mistakes if they aren't on purpose. So tell me what's going on??"
Charli: "nothing."
Chase: "do you not want me to find my parents murderer?"
He's on to me
Charli: "of course I do."
Chase: "then why did you do that??"
Charli: "I told you... it was an accident"
He rolled his eyes.
We got back in the car.
Chase: "charli that was the one and only lead..."
Ok now I feel bad. But I had to do it.
Charli: "I'm sorry... I tripped..."
Chase: "ok. Fine. Don't tell me. Il find out eventually"
He's not gonna find out.
And I'm make sure of it.
I started driving back to the school.

We got back and we got out of the car.
We walked inside and walked to the room.
I opener the door and we went inside.

What is he doing here??
Charli: "why are you in our room??"
Ted: "uh. I... need to borrow something...?"
I rolled my eyes.
Charli: "ok fine."
I walked to the door
Chase: "why are you going to the hallway? Cant you just say what you need to say here?"
Charli: "um... no. It's private. Sorry."
He looked confused
I walked to the hallway and Ted came behind me.
I closed the door behind me
Charli: "it's done. The evidence is gone."
Ted: "really?"
Charli: "yes really?! You're welcome"
Ted: "thanks..."
I roller my eyes
I turned around and opened the door-
Oh my god no?!!
Why do I keep doing this?!!?
Chase: "you did it on purpose, I knew it.... Did you kill my parents."
