Trust issues

Charlis POV:
Why is he looking through my phone?? We've been back together for not even an hour and he already doesn't trust me?? What did I do? What did I say? I was just trying to be nice? I didn't think I was doing anything wrong? What's not to trust??
Chase: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
Charli: "you didn't mean to pick up my phone, unlock it and start looking through it?"
Chase: "I'm so sorry. I know you must think I'm an idiot now but I promise I can explain"
Uh. What does he have to say.
Charli: "ok. Explain"
Chase: "oh. Um. So I didn't want to get our relationship off on a bad start. I wanted to just check if you had anything to hide from me... or anything I needed to know before we started this again..."
Charli: "and tell me chase. What did you find."
Chase: "I found nothing... except you being completely loyal to me... I'm sorry. I just wanted to check just in case you had any secrets you were hiding-"
He really thinks I'd cheat on him?
Charli: "you don't think I'd tell you if I had something to hide?"
Chase:"well- you didn't tell me last tim-"
He did not just say that-
Chase: "no I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry. I forgive you for then sorry for bringing it up- I shouldn't Have-"
He needs to calm down-
Chase: "what I meant is that- I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have done that I'm sorry, I just don't want us to break up..."
Charli: "it's fine chase. I'm not gonna break up with you. Calm down"
Chase: "I should not have looked through your phone. It was a mistake. I trust you completely I promise..."
Charli: "it's okay... I get it... In the past I've been un-faithful to you. I get why you have trust issues."
...
Chase: "I don't. I trust you with my life Charli."
Does he tho? I don't even trust myself with my life.

I smiled.
He kissed my head.
Chase: "I love you"
Charli: "okay let's not make things cringy"
He rolled his eyes
Chase: "what's wrong with telling my girlfriend I love her??"
Charli: "why are you talking to me like in not here"
Chase: "shut up"

Chases POV:
Woah. She actually forgave me. Crazy.
Anyways, I should not have Done that.
Stupid Janet won't get out of my head.
She told me to do that.
Janet: "chase I am you. I'm your mind. Anything that you think. I think"
Uhh.
Janet: "you wanted to look threw her phone not me"

Well. I do feel bad for charli. I keep bringing up the past like there's something she can do to change it.
But there's nothing either of us can do to change it.
She cheated on me, she was un faithful to me, she lied to me. But she's changed for the better I think. So instead of looking at the past. Il just wait for the future. I think this time we are gonna work. She's matured, I think? No. She hasn't. But she's learned from her mistakes and there's not many more mistakes she can make. She's made them all already. So I think it's gonna work out this time. Well... I don't think, I hope. We'll just have to see.

1 month later

Charlis POV:
Chase and I have been dating for a month now... first week, we were all good, second week, all good, third week, a little less good and by the forth week...we are...okay. We've both been distant. I have no idea why. But I dont want us to be like this. I'm not breaking up with him but I want to talk to him. I trust him, I don't think it's anything serious. I think it's just because we've both been busy with school and stuff but I need to fix it. I'm not unhappy but I'm not happy. I think we just need to do more things together.

Chases POV:
It's been a month. Things are going smoothly. But it's not the same. I've been busy with school. we haven't drifted apart but somethings definitely changed, I don't know what.. I'm not gonna jump to conclusions, I know she wouldn't cheat on me. Not again.
She's smarter than that. I think if she was cheating on me she wouldn't make it so obvious.
We just need to spend more time together, that's all. I hope that's all.
I'm gonna make us work. Whatever it takes.

Charlis POV:
Chase came through the door back from class
Chase: "hey"
He smiled.
Charli: "chase we need to talk"
...
Chase: "please say you aren't breaking up with me-"
Charli: "I am"
Chase: "what?? What did I do I? I think we can work this- I want us to w-"
Charli: "I'm kidding"
I laughed
He raised his middle finger at me
I rolled my eyes sarcastically
Chase: "seriously. That's not funny."
Charli: "I think it was pretty funny"
Chase: "for you"
Charli: "ok whatever just sit"
He walked over to me and sat down next to me.
Charli: "I think we've both noticed that things between us are... different."
He nodded slowly
Charli: "I just want us to be less preoccupied and I think we should spend more time together"
Chase: "... yeah I've noticed that too. I'm sorry. I've just been so busy with school since it's almost over.."
Charli: "no it's fine. It's not just you. I'm busy too. I think we should just find more time together before we drift apart"
Chase: "me too, I'm taking you out tonight. Okay?"
Charli: "yeah okay."
I smiled.
He kissed me

Ok I hope this fixes our issue.
I really don't wanna break up again.

I walked over to the bathroom to start getting ready. I went inside the cabinet to get some stuff- no no no-

Medication- this stuff isn't prescripted- is this why he's been distant?? He's on drugs??
