Third Person POV

⁕⁕⁕

"Charu isn't mom, that's for sure..." Ayush broke the awkward silence, between the three Padikkal kids.

"So, the Charu who wrote the letter met dad during the 2020 IPL," Dhristi speculated and Aarohi nodded.

"Maybe dad has a picture of her somewhere," Ayush suggested, and Aarohi nodded. She began to flip through the pages of the book looking for any photo that might give a gist of what this mysterious 'Charu' looked like. At last, a photo tumbled out of the diary. Ayush picked it up and let out an audible gasp, Aarohi snatched the photo away.

The photo was a candid picture of their dad hugging a woman with brown curls and a charming smile. They continued their search for how Charu looked like, there was another picture in the diary. It was a photo of the same girl, except this time she was in Dev's arms. While she smiled at the camera, Dev smiled at her.

Their mother was outside town right now, she had work in Delhi. Which left the three teens along with their father, Dev loved spending time with them. He and Ayush spoke about all things sport, Dhristi would teach their father how to cook. Dev couldn't cook at all, he had to rely on his eldest daughter for their meals while his beloved wife was away. Aarohi and Dev had a unique relationship, both of them would participate in the oddest contests.

Dev and his wife although, held hands and kissed each other, which the kids hated.

"Too much PDA!" They often complained, which made their parents laugh.

"Dad look's so in love," Ayush mumbled softly, allowing his fingertips to brush the edges of the old photo. Aarohi wanted to agree with her twin brother. They'd found a few more photo's and their doubts increased by the second.

The next one they'd found was a photo of the same woman, Charu, riding on Dev's back. The last one was a candid photo of Charu, except on the side, Dev had written something.

'She disappeared'

The teens fell into an uncomfortable blanketing silence.

"Come on, let's at least read finish the first entry." Aarohi quickly diverted the topic, trusting her dad that her mother was the only person in his heart.
