Dev's POV

I couldn't sleep at all last night, just retelling the story wasn't very helpful. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. I couldn't be looking depressing at Dhristi's graduation. Dhristi was deep in conversation with her friends, Aru by my side.
"What are you thinking about?" She chuckled and nudged me, I mildly surprised. I thought I was doing an amazing job masking my emotions.
"Charu," I breathed quietly, and Aru nodded solemnly.
"Thank you," Aru sighed, "You didn't have to agree to marry me but-"
"We both were left heartbroken, and are good friends." I smiled, "Besides, it's one of the smartest things I did."
I heard a laugh from behind me, I whipped around, it sounded familiar. I saw the familiar brown curls, and mischievous smile. I blinked a few times, just staring at her twinkling brown eyes.
There was only one way to check if it was true or an illusion.
"Charu?" I mustered up my courage and spoke, and she turned around. A gasp escaped from her lips.
"...Dev?" She drew a breath in sharply. Aru noticed this, and slowly stepped away. All of a sudden the chatter of the room quieted to hum, and my eyes were fixed on her.
"Why'd you leave?" My voice was hoarse and thick with emotion. Charu turned around and marched away.
