The three kids stared at Dev, who was wide-awake.
"What diary?" Dhristi asked innocently, and this was when Ayush noticed the diary was missing.
"I swear, I thought I saw my diary in Ayush's hands." Dev massaged his temple, and Dhristi hugged her father.
"You're just hallucinating, Papa." Dhristi laughed, and Dev hesitated, raking his eyes across the room.
No Diary InSight.
"I get why mom says that she's the brains in the family," Dhristi cracked a smile, making Dev smile as well.
"Someone needed to balance out my lack of brains," Dev joked but he sensed that something was wrong.
"Alright, well what are you doing awake at 2 AM?" Dev countered successfully, but Dhristi was prepared for this.
"Well, tomorrow's your anniversary and we wanted to do something special for you and Mom." Dhristi supplied smoothly, while her two siblings looked at her with awe. Dev hesitated once more, but Dhristi shooed him away to his room.
All three Padikkal kids heaved sighs of relief when they heard the door to Dev's bedroom close.
"Hey, look at this." Aarohi pulled the diary out of the hiding spot, she was the one who'd quick wittedly hid the book.
"So, dad. What are you hiding?" Dhristi whispered and flipped through the pages of the diary.
"Wait a minute," Ayush frowned and took the book away.
The reason the pages were blank was because Dev had stuck them together.
Making them look, blank while they wearn't.
"Ah, so he is hiding something..." Aarohi gasped.
