Lauren POV
It was a Monday morning and the only thing that occupied my mind was Shania, I was so lost in my thoughts I ended up putting my blazer back to front. I know it sounds a bit creepy but before she came to my room I stole a zip up hoodie from her bag. Not because it was nice or anything, but because I wanted a memoir of her. It was also an excuse to talk to her and use the classical "Oh you left it at mine." line. But she would probably figure out that I stole it, I didn't care though.
I looked at the dual mirrors in my bathroom, tracing my finger nails down my neck where the once red blooming hickies faded to a light pink. When Lacey asked me about them I shrugged and she didn't seem to investigate further. The hoodie I held in my hand had the familiar signature coconut smell that Shania's hair had. I pulled it up to my face inhaling the scent before taking my blazer off and replacing it with the hoodie, I didn't zip it up but I put the blazer over it.
Normally I didn't have confidence like this but I knew Saturday night meant something and I needed her to talk to me about it. I wasn't in the mood to be ignored again like she always did. This time I was taking control.
I grabbed my handbag throwing it on my shoulder before leaving, I didn't want to wait for Lacey today to be honest. Once I walked down the stairs I heard my mum shout, "New jumper? Don't forget your breakfast!"
I ignored her speedily walking out the front door to school, my heart raced and my mind was everywhere. I ignored the feeling by putting my headphones in listening to my hot girl summer playlist (periodt)
It seemed the universe was on my side since I saw that distinct beautiful freckled face with her curls bouncing with each stride she took. As expected she stared at me before walking into school taking paying no attention to me, but it wasn't over yet since she turned around in disbelief to see me in the hoodie. She raised her left eyebrow pausing in her steps, before walking towards me.
"Is that my hoodie?" She asked before pinching the material with her index finger and thumb.
"It might be."
She closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them and patting my upper right arm. I stared at her with a straight face confused on why she done that.
"Keep it. It suits you better than me." She said before she walking off into the distance.
It was obvious she knew what I was trying to do and she didn't fall for it, it instantly backfired when a member of SLT saw me and sent me down to the corridor for uniform misconduct.
Shania POV
To be honest, I was surprised at that poor attempt Lauren tried to use on me. The hoodie wasn't even mine and when Jayden would see it he would be more shocked than I was. But since I wasn't interested in holding a conversation, beating around the bush with Lauren I kept my mouth shut. I mean I thought realistically and I knew with every interaction we would have she would end up falling for me even more. I didn't want to be a bad person and lead her on so I thought it would be best to avoid as much conversation as possible.
Once she told me she liked me on Sunday, I knew I had to get myself together. I wouldn't label myself as bisexual or lesbian since I liked men and two I didn't like labels. To me labels were a sort of obstruction and a thing that prevented other things happening. I just wanted to go with the flow and enjoy my time whilst I was still young.
Before I could enter the main building a croaky voice called at me.
"Shania! Get here now."
I sighed knowing it was none other than Ms Smith, I walked towards her meeting her smirk which turned into a frown.
"Go to the corridor and wait for me, you know you aren't supposed to be wearing trainers."
"But Miss, I hurt my foot."
"No excuses, go and wait for me there."
I rolled my eyes before making my way to the corridor. And once I had arrived there I saw the familiar long brunette hair, it was like she sensed me since she turned around to face me and blushed.
I squinted my eyes at her before walking to a black cushioned seat, I sat down before fiddling with my thumbs.
"Did you follow me?"
"Whatever caused you to think that must be pathetic." I snapped back.
I turned to face a sad face with seemed to have tears ready to pour down any moment.
"I didn't mean it like that I'm sorry."
She ignored me and walked away out of the corridor, I got up to follow her Ms Smiths voice attempted to stop me, but at the moment I cared more for the girl than the middle aged woman.
