Chapter 6

Jade's POV

I woke up to the sunrise and my head was on Raven's stomach. We ended up falling asleep for the night.

- Raven, I think we should go home, it's the morning now.

Raven opened their eyes, looked around them and realized that we spent the night together in an empty field. They stood up, we looked at each other and thought of what just happened. After an awkward silence, we found our way home because of the early sun. 

When I got inside, I checked the clock and it was already 10am. Raven headed home, since they were gone for more than 24h and their mom would be really mad.

Raven's POV

- RAVEN! Where were you this whole time?

- I was walking around, nothing to worry about. 

- You know I was gonna look for you. There won't be a second chance. 

Celeste walked in and asked me to go in my room while she talked to Mom. I thought back to this morning and what happened last night. I really enjoyed spending time with Jade, we weren't mad at each other and I felt comfortable opening up to her, it had been a long time since I felt like that.

Celeste's POV

- Claudia I know you were worried for Raven but do you know where we live? Nothing bad will happen to them ok? I talked with Alessandro and apparently they were with Jade the whole time. They have a point, there's nothing to worry about. Now I'll go check on Alessandro at the bakery.

He told me he had to work early, so I decided to surprise him. When I arrived, I checked in the store window to see if he was there and I saw him sitting with a woman at a table.

I remember her, she's Maria and Dante's mother. I accepted that she saw the kids since they're hers, but my boyfriend will not fall into her silly game. She has no business coming into Alessandro's life. I walked home as fast as I could and told Claudia everything.

- That's awful Cece! You need to confront him. There's no way this woman will ruin your life.

I went back to the bakery about an hour later and she was gone.

 - Hi love, you came to see me? How lovely!

- Alessandro, what was she doing here earlier? I wanted to surprise you but I guess you were too busy sneaking out to see your ex.

- Oh Celeste darling I have no intention to get back with her. I heard Dante talking about getting an apartment recently and I thought she'd want to help with the budget.

I felt so embarrassed to confront him, I just looked like the jealous girlfriend now.

Jade's POV

*phone rings*

    - Hello?

- Hi Jade, it's Raven. I was wondering if you'd like to come and spend time together.

My stomach couldn't help but tighten. I didn't expect to hear their voice.

- Yeah sure. Um, I'll be there in 10.

I ran downstairs and got on my bike. As soon as I arrived, I saw Raven from the window. They were dancing in the living room.

- Well hello rockstar, found a new hobby?

- This song is amazing! I've been listening to it all day.

Their smile was so contagious. We then went outside, in the pool area, they removed their clothes to reveal a dark blue swimsuit underneath, and jumped in the pool.

- Get in with me!

- I don't have a swimsuit with me.

- Oh come on, don't be a chicken! I'll give you some clothes after, just jump in with me!

I didn't have time to answer before they pulled me in the water with them. I got my head out of the water, pulled my hair back and laughed.

Raven's POV

She was beautiful. Her soaked dress was moving around in the water, and she splashed water on me. She...no no no I can't do this. I'm not falling for someone. Not yet.

- Are you ok?

- Yeah, I was just thinking, nothing important. So, it's beautiful outside today isn't it?

- Um yeah, yeah it is. Sure you're ok?

- Yeah no worries.
