''Maybe it's weird but,'' he gently said, pouring hot mint tea in her fancy porcelain cup, watching the sunrise on the sandy beach, together, ''I've never felt this peaceful before.'' clicking his tongue awkwardly, he mentally slapped himself when she didn't respond. Instead she chuckled, falling down on the sand, her eyes almost disappearing because of how hard she was laughing.
''Me neither.'' she spoke in the end, lazily standing up, only to rest her head on his left shoulder, inhaling his scent. She'll never forget it. ''Sorry-'' removing her head from his shoulder, she smiled sheepishly at him, ''I should've asked if you are comfortable if I-'' but before she could finish he gently cupped her head and pushed her down in his arms, wrapping his left arm around her shoulders, covering her body completely. 'How lucky', she thought, only because he couldn't see how red her cheeks were, or else, she would've died of embarrassment.
They quickly fell asleep, waking up hours later, both dizzy after sleeping in the hot sun. ''Wanna go for a swim?'' he quietly asked, removing his shirt once she shyly nodded. One week and five days. They knew each other for twelve days. When he saw how red her cheeks were, he knew she was embarrassed. Without a warning, he grabbed her hand, running towards the water. ''Wait, I haven't-''
''I have a clean set of clothes in my trunk. Or we can wait until you are dry.'' she was amazed because he knew exactly what she wanted to say. He was able to read her like an open book. A shiver went down her spine once her hot body touched the colder water of the ocean, but it made her feel free; it made her feel alive. ''Wait, don't go too far-'' she spoke, gripping onto his wide shoulders, ''I can't swim.''
He heard the fear in her voice as he gently turned around, ''shall we get out then?''
Her brain stopped for a moment; he was so gentle and careful with her, as if she was made of porcelain. His grip on her waist was so soft, she barely felt it, as if he was aware that one wrong move could shatter her to pieces. Taking a deep breath, she smiled looking up at him, ''It's okay. I trust you.''
She swore she smiled more in almost two weeks than she did in the past years.
